Description

When I first put my hands on LATTE I could not believe the softness of her fleece and then looking into that fleece, to see the definition and consistency of the crimp in a female who is now close to 11 years old, I stood there in disbelief. LATTE is truly amazing! We are pleased to have purchased LATTE from Barry Finer at Gore Mtn Farm in NY. Having seen many of LATTE's offspring, we are very enthusiastic about adding her to our foundation herd. After working hard and developing an elite white/light herd, we are now beginning to work on an elite gray program, with LATTE and KODACHROME at the base. LATTE is a magnificent Modern Dark Rose Gray female who was shown once. She took the blue ribbon and won the Color Championship at the 2003 Empire Extravaganza. Her daughter by El Duro is a multiple blue ribbon winner and the 2008 Futurity Gray Color Champion. LATTE's son Becket is a blue ribbon male. LATTE is a big boned, sweet tempered female. With El Duro's passing she was bred to Santana (his closest genetic relative) twice and produced a beautiful 2 year old dark silver gray male, Satchel and a yearling DRG male named Spalding (Grey Color Champion in his first show in Oct 2012 under Jill McCleod and also at the VA Show in Dec 2012 when owned by Doug & Denise Caldwell). After seeing these two offspring, buying LATTE was a done deal. We are looking forward to thie amazing cria that LATTE will now produce for SLEEPING MONK FARM ALPACAS. We are hoping for a female who can eventually be bred to our 2 X Champion, Orlando Cloud son, KODACHROME. LATTE had her first cria for us in 2020...a male whom we have named LIAM. A beautiful boy whose fleece stopped Jay Mariacher in his tracks when he was shearing him! Looking forward to watching LIAM develop! Latte passed away peacefully on March 28, 2024 at 21 years old. We will miss her dearly.
