Difference between Suri and Huacaya Alpacas
There is only one species of alpaca, but two fleece types often referred
to as breeds. The Huacaya type is commonly referred to looking like a
"teddy bear," with full crimpy fiber. Eighty two percent of alpacas are
Huacaya. Suri alpacas have the luster of silk in penciled like fibers that
hang down and look like "dread locks."
