Welcome to HAPPY HOUNDS ALPACA RANCH
We were introduced to alpacas in July of 2010. From the moment we saw and then subsequently put our hands on them we were hooked. Their quirky little personalities and amazingly soft fleece were the driving force of wanting them for ourselves. We originally just wanted a couple of fiber males to add to our farm but soon learned that we wanted to join the ranks of SHOWING these amazing animals. We decided as a business we would concentrate on buying the BEST possible females we could afford and then breed to the BEST possible males we could find for those females to start our small but ELITE little herd. So far we feel we have accomplished our goals. That small but ELITE little herd has now grown to an average herd size of 180 animals. We have gathered foundation females from the best farms all over the country to diversify our herd. Our showing accomplishments include the 2023 AOA National Supreme Champion Dark Huacaya Female H2R Queen's Jubilee and the 2023 AOA National Supreme Champion Light Huacaya Female H2R Lunar Vesta. Other accolades include Judge's Choice Huacaya Female at the prestigious 2025 Celebrity Show & Sale with H2R Awe-Mazing! Our herdsire lineup includes Snowmass Velvet Touché, Snowmass Everlasting Paramount, Sunset Hills Zagato and Snow Diamond Absinthe - all of which have won Herdsire of the Year accolades at the The Futurity. H2R Valerian was named the 2023 Futurity Huacaya Light Herdsire of the Year & 2023 Futurity Reserve Dark Huacaya Herdsire of Year. Valerian was undefeated in Get-of-Sire in 2004, including a 1st at The Futurity and AOA National Show.
