Welcome to Stargazer Ranch Alpacas

We began our alpaca journey over 25 years ago with the purpose of helping alpacas regain the vicuna qualities they exhibited  prior to the SA conquest. The purpose being to achieve sustainability as a superior natural fiber producer. It's been an enjoyable, exciting and rewarding process as we have been able to achieve so much progress toward that goal.

As we reduce our herd responsibilities, we are able to spend more time helping new and existing alpaca owners and thrive for the next 25 years. We've been posting some of our insights online to provide some basis as to what goes into a successful breeding program. We are now birthing our 5th generation of offspring of top Stargazer bred and owned. All alpacas have detailed health records and yearly EPD progress reporting.

Alpacas are relatively "new" to the world stage. We feel continuing education is key to the success of alpacas as a premier fiber producing industry. Our breeding program is well established and proven after years participating in national, regional and local shows. Over 250 ribbons, more than 36 color championships and a dozen judges special recognition awards.

Since the show system can only highlight a small fraction of the national herd, we also participate in the National EPD program to help identify the animals that can provide the best benefit in reaching your goals.

We appreciate every alpaca in our herd. They have all worked extremely well for us. Each has a history and story that can share with you to help you imagine what he/she would produce in your future.
