Whispering Willows Alpacas at Fishback Creek Farm is a family-owned and operated farm just west of the historic village of Zionsville, Indiana.

All animals at Fishback Creek Farm have been confirmed negative for BVD.

The mission of Whispering Willows Alpacas is the creation of a genetically diverse American alpaca herd of rich colors with uniformly balanced conformation and consistently exceptional fleece. Whispering Willows Alpacas specializes in alpacas with blended ancestries, and the hybrid vigor that comes from the crossing of varied, established lines. We are also working to return our focus back towards blacks, dark browns, and greys, which have always been our favorite fleece colors.

Whispering Willows Alpacas began with a vision and a search for a small tract of land that would allow us both to pursue our dream of owning a farm, and to remain part of the Zionsville community to which we have belonged since 1991—and have grown to love. We were blessed to be able to purchase the property that would become Fishback Creek Farm in 2004, and our dream has quickly become a reality.

The village of Zionsville is conveniently located in central Indiana, only 20 minutes from downtown Indianapolis. Zionsville is a small but growing community known for its beautiful neighborhoods, exceptional schools, and many churches. The village is best known for its nostalgic, brick-paved main street which is home to a broad array of quaint shops and boutiques.

Our story is very similar to many others we have read on the websites of hundreds of other alpaca farms across the country. Todd has been a professor at one of the fine universities located in Indianapolis for more than two decades, while Pam has had a successful career on the management team of a large corporation in the city as well. Like many others, our increasing activities and their accompanying stresses led us to long for a return to a quieter, simpler lifestyle. We have always been animal lovers, as have our three children—who have always maintained a menagerie of small pets--and the move to a more rural setting seemed like the logical next step. After discovering alpacas on the web and visiting two local farms in March of 2003, we were hooked, so to say, and knew that we had found the answer to our dreams and prayers. A yearlong search led to the purchase of Fishback Creek Farm, our first alpacas arrived one year later, and the farm was born.
