    Sadly, Phobos lost his battle with cancer and passed away in July 2012. We will greatly miss Phobos, not only did he pass on incredible fleece qualities to his offspring, but he was also the first cria born on our farm. We will leave up his listing as a reference for his progeny and grandkids. RIP Phobos, you will forever hold a place in our hearts.

    Phobos is an exceptional full Bolivian! His fleece is beautiful; bright white, small uniform crimp and bundling, and extremely fine. His two year micron count was just 17.4! The fleece coverage and density on this boy couldn't be better. Phobos has strong conformation with heavy bone. He has an excellect bite for those females that might need a little extra help in that department. Phobos has a strong libido, yet can easily be handled.
    If you desire extremely fine fleece with fabulous character and great coverage, Phobos could be your Macho!

    His crias are showing improvement over the dams in coverage (literally from nose to toes), fleece character, and bone structure. Phobos is truly an impact male!

    Here's a female that will add all the beauty and consistency of white fleece while giving you an excellent opportunity to produce color! Shooting Star's "Surprise" has fleece with consistent character, showing uniform crimp and brightness. Surprise's staple length is exceptional for her age. She has a calm disposition, easily handled, and is an easy keeper. She is a medium sized girl that carries herself very well. Surprise is the quiet type yet doesn't let the others push her around, a perfect fit to any herd!

    Pperuvian Guellermo and Pperuvian Victor are this girl's grandsires, with rich color residing on both sides of her parentage, even going back on her maternal side to The Silversmith!

    Surprise has produced two exceptional, fine fleeced crias for us. The first, a medium fawn male, Caramello's Cerulli, in 2009, had a 1st year histogram of: AFD:18.0; SD:3.6; CV:19.8; %>30:1.0. The second, a white female, Phobos' Phinesse, in 2011 who's 1st year histogram was AFD:18.0; SD:3.6; CV:19.8; %>30:1.0.

    Surprise has also acted as a surrogate mother to a little orphan female, taking care of both her daughter and the orphan at the same time. It's a wonderful trait to have in a production female!

    Description

    Incredible female from Peruvian and rare Bolivian genetics! Phinesse and her dam are even featured on the front of the Alpaca Blanket Project product hang tags, cool huh?

    As a breeder you always dream of offspring like this female as a result from your breeding decisions. She truly has it all, we wouldn't change a thing. Her fleece is bright, tons of character, consistency, and nice density. She comes with color in her background so she shouldn't be overlooked for a color breeding program.

    She was a very attentive mother, she doesn't like to let her little ones out of her sight!
    Her first son had the lowest micron of all of the 2017 crias coming in at just 14 AFD.

    She delivered a brown male by Liberty's American Revolution in September 2020 so she's definitely capable of throwing color!

    Phinesse has been bred to our appaloosa male, Wahoo, for an early summer 2022 cria. Will we be seeing spots? We hope so!
