AutumnSun's Provenance

Huacaya, Open (Female), Proven | Light Fawn

AOA# 32585988   D.O.B. 7/4/2012, 7/8 Peruvian, 1/8 Chilean

Sire:
El Nino's Golden Legend
| AOA# 1422443  | Light Fawn  |
Golden Legend is an exceptional male that stands for quality in both phenotype and genetics. His sire, PCA Accoyo El Nino is the 2004 AOBA National Get of Sire and Senior Champion of the 2001 International Alpaca Odyssey show. El Nino is in high demand, so much so that Pacific Crest Alpacas raised El Nino's breeding fee to $10,000, and shortly thereafter eliminated outside breedings entirely.

Legend's dam is Sophia del Sol, a light grey, 3/4 Peruvian sired by Peruvian Camilio. At her first show the AOBA Senior Judge commented on the micro bundling in Sophia's fleece and said, "The only thing wrong with this alpaca is it's not a male!"
If your goal is to introduce superior genetics that includes bloodlines such as Peruvian Caligula, Peruvian Camilio, and Peruvian Guellermo into your herd then you will be making a sound investment in breeding to El Nino’s Golden Legend.

Dam:
AutumnSun's Vanilla Breezes
| AOA# 31828796  | Beige, Light Fawn  |
Vanilla comes from a line of easy-care, easy-breeding, and good-mothering dams. Her grand-dam and dam has have had 80% girls! Will Vanilla produce mostly girls? Could be, as she has had 2 girls to 1 boy! But that is not the only reason to want Vanilla in your herd…

Vanilla’s fiber is very fine and shiny bright, with a good staple with a high frequency crimp. Her annual fiber clip automatically is sorted for next-to-skin products. Her fiber will be wonderful as a roving, mill-spun into yarn, or handspun, and it will easily dye just about any color.

Vanilla is a quintessential production girl. She breeds easily, carries well, and births without assistance. She attentive to her crias and produces plenty of milk. Moreover, she has produced very nice crias for us, two girls and one boy.

Her first cria, born on the Fourth of July, was sired by the sire of champions, El Nino's Golden Legend. Provenance matured quickly, and after a great showing as a juvenile and yearling she has produced fantastic crias for us. Vanilla's 2013 girl sired by Tuscan Gold is brilliant, and was aptly named Golden Reflection (Goldie). Goldie's fiber is just as soft and delicious to touch as her dam's fleece, and Goldie is producing fantastic crias for us as well. In 2014, Vanilla produced a little macho from her breeding to FIA Excello's Rocky Bay. This fawn boy is named Archer for his light marking on his forehead; his fiber is very shiny and soft! For 2015, Vanilla presened to us another girl, this one in a brown coloration. She is a sweetheart and pretty little thing!

Overall, Vanilla has great fiber & conformation, easy health/care & breeding, and a sweet personality just like her dam and grand-dam. In the end, this is what we are all hoping for -- healthy alpacas that breed easily, produce improved crias, and provide a highly quality fiber!

Description

We love this girl's potential! She truly is a provenance of fantastic crias.

Her cria sired by champion Manassas was a beautiful fleeced fawn male that was sold quickly, and Provenance was an excellent mom (even adopting an 'orphaned' cria). His fiber was so fine and bright that it reminded me of Tussah silk.

She was been confirmed by ultrasound to be bred to our Supermassive, a pairing that has been destined since they were crias and I saw their fleece side by side. This one I cannot wait to see. I know that it will likely be light fawn (go figure, both LF) but it is sure to be nice! Of course, my fingers are crossed for a girl to add to foundation....We got just what I hoped for -- a lovely LF girl! I was so excited, and she was a picture of loveliness. But alas, she was not robust and only stayed with us for a few days. I am not sure if it was the genetic combination or the extreme heat we have been having this summer, during the last months of her en utero stay but she was smaller than Provenance has shown to make.

She is only priced at this extreme price because of our need to reduce our farm size. It is not demonstrative of what she is worth as she has produced fantastically. We wish we could keep them all but because we cannot, we truly hope that she will be able to find a good home in a breeding program at another happy farm.

If she doesn't sell, that's alright by me. We don't have Supermassive any longer to try again, but I might take a try at darker color next time...

Awards

Reserve Champion - 2017 TxOLAN Sweetheart Spectacular Fleece Show, Fawn (class "c"), Amanda VandenBosch.
The Color Champion went on to win Judge's Choice in the fleece show!
1st - 2013 - MOPACA, LF Juvenile Female - Jude Anderson
1st - 2013 - TxOLAN, LF Juvenile Female - Sharon Loner
1st - 2013 - ABR Fall Festival, LF Yearling Female - Kathy Klay (Large class of 12!)
2nd – 2017 MOPACA Invitational Fleece Show, Mature Fawn (class “c”), Wade Gease
2nd - 2017 TxOLAN Sweetheart Spectacular Fleece Show, Mature Fawn (class "c"), Amanda VandenBosch -- this was her third fleece and she was carrying her first pregnancy while growing it!
2nd - 2015 - TxOLAN, 2-yr-old LF female - Amanda VandenBosch
“well grown” ,“really good degree of fineness" - placed second due to uniformity difference, which we know since she has fawn and white fibers (another ‘fawn grey’, the non-existent color group)
2nd - 2014 - Great Western Alpaca Show, LF Yearling - Jude Anderson (1st was the Reserve Champion).
3rd - 2015 - Great Western Alpaca Show, 2-yr-old LF female
Excellent placing behind a Snowmass Matrix granddaughter and a Running Late granddaughter.
3rd - 2014 - TxOLAN Light Fawn Yearling - Helen Humphreys
The 1st place alpaca is from the Patagonia program. The 2nd alpaca placed over her for uniformity, which did not surprise us since Provinance is really a fawn-grey, with white and fawn fibers intermixed.
3rd - 2014 - NWSS Beige/LF combined Yearling - Sharon Loner
A tough class for a fawn, with 1st & 2nd being Beige color champions.
5th - 2013 - GWAS, LF Juvenile Female - Helen Humphreys
"Excellent staple length." - Perhaps she was affected by the rain/snow storm the day before the show (AGAIN!). I believe the judge's perception was off due to her 'relaxed open' fleece from the moisture. She placed 5 of 13, but we expect better things for this girl in the future.
