Welcome to our farm!

We're glad that you found us on Openherd. Please take a look at our sales lists and enjoy learning more about our farm. We welcome your inquiries and questions!

Dreaming Dragon Alpacas is administratively run out of a subdivision in Milton, Fl. but our alpacas live and play with their friends at Alpacas of Nottingham Hollow in beautiful Woodford, Va. There they are under the ever attentive care of Sue and Chuck Ives. We have a small herd and are excitedly learning all the ins and outs of long distance alpaca ownership. With fiber being my addiction we are obviously trying to "breed up" for the best fiber. Our animals are all healthy, happy and sound of conformation.
The dream is to eventually be able to have our own farm in the Sunshine state and move our herd here to live with us in sunny Florida. We know that it will take time and effort and (lots) of money but we are hoping to make it a reality sooner rather than later. Meanwhile we are building our herd with a solid breeding program and entering our fleeces into Spin Off's in an attempt to garner some of those hard to come by ribbons. Since we are absentee owners we cannot transport the animal to shows but we can still send the fleece! So far it has netted us several ribbons, even receiving a Spin Off blue ribbon for Charmed Mark Anthony in one of last years shows!
Our most recent boy, Dynamite Weekend, has started making apperances in the show ring and though he is still growing we are encouraged by his performance. He recently did well at VAOBA and will be making another appearance in the spring.
If you are looking at adding some good genetics at reasonable prices, look at our alpacas. They have some good lines, our moms are very good at what they do, and they are all affordably priced in order to help you start your own herd of these amazing animals or add some diversity to the herd you already have.
