What is the Affiliate Marketing Program (AMP)?
One of the main goals of regional associations is to help their members market their farms locally. But providing a website content management system (CMS) to upload farm and sales information is usually well beyond the budget, skill sets, and time-investment of most associations.
The Openherd Affiliate Marketing Program allows an association's members to use Openherd's content management system and all their farm information is automatically synced to the association's website with our MultiSyncTM technology.
Since many farms are already using Openherd for their marketing and personal websites, participation rates are far higher than an association's custom-built solution, and all the system support is handled by Openherd!
What's included?
The Openherd Affiliate Marketing Program provides each association with fully-functional search pages for Farms, Animals for Sale, an online Store of all member products and services, and member events list.
Each member then gets their own farm profile, sales lists, sales pages, storefront with Paypal checkout, and other web pages they have added on Openherd. These are all displayed directly on the association website.
Openherd will custom-style all of the pages to match your association's existing website design or can design a completely new association website that is hosted on Openherd's servers, creating a seamless visitor experience. The association will get their own Affiliate account on Openherd where they can easily add and remove member farms.
What's the cost?
When added to an existing association website, there is an affordable initial setup and styling fee and no annual hosting fees. Association members do not have to have a paid plan with Openherd in order to participate. Members may upgrade their Openherd plan to take advantage of additional paid features on Openherd and with their own personal farm website.
With a complete association website design and hosting package from Openherd, there is an up-front design/build fee, additional page work charged on an hourly basis, and a low annual hosting/email/support fee. Please contact us for details and pricing.
Can this work for my personal website, too?
Openherd offers two personal website solutions. One way is to use our ListMirrorTM feature to embed your sales lists on your existing website with the addition of a small piece of code to your web page.

How do we get started?
Implementing the Openherd Affiliate Marketing Program on your association's existing website requires very little work from the association or their webmaster. Simply get in touch with us and let us know whether you want to use your existing website or have Openherd design and host a new one, and we'll let you know details, pricing, and what the process will be.
Features
Farm Profile
Members get a complete farm profile, including 'My Pages', which allows members to add their own web pages, blogs, and articles to share events, educational info, and farm happenings to draw in visitors, and are included in the farm directory search.
Sales Lists
Members can display complete, professional sales lists for visitors to browse right on their association website, with everything easily managed in their Openherd account.
Online Store
Members can have their own online store right on their association website and can upload unlimited products or services for purchase using Paypal (upgraded Openherd plan is required to have a storefront on Openherd.com).
Questions?
Will any Openherd member be able to add themselves to my association website?
No. Each association will get their own special Affiliate account on Openherd where they will be able to manage their members, which determines who shows up on their association website.
How will things link back to Openherd.com?
All pages are hosted on a 'subdomain' of the association's main domain (example: members.myassocitation.com), meaning that the pages become part of the association's website and full search engine credit is given to the association's website, not Openherd.com. All pages and links keep visitors on the association's website and won't redirect them to Openherd.com (except online auctions and dam/sire/offspring not listed by a member farm).

How long does it take?
When added to an existing association website, the turn-around time is typically 2 weeks or less, assuming timely board reviews/decisions. For a complete association website design and hosting package, the design turn-around time is approximately 2 weeks, with another 2 weeks after board approval of the design, to build out the site.
How does this affect our current association website?
Openherd offers two options for participating in the Affiliate Marketing Program. The first option simply adds the new search and farm profile pages to the association's existing website, without having to change the existing website (except for changing or adding a few main navigation links).
The second option provides a completely new website, custom-designed and hosted by Openherd and easily edited through an Affiliate account on Openherd.com. This option is ideal for associations that struggle to maintain their own websites, due to time and cost constraints or "in-house" skill sets that come and go with board rotation.
