AOA# 31220156 D.O.B. 10/21/2007, Full Peruvian
Sire:
Snowmass Red Hot Tawny Port
| AOA# 838379 | Dark Brown
|
From the '06 Snowmass Auction catalog: "Snowmass Red Hot Tawny Port is one of our finest true Vicuna type medium brown males. He is an example of a true type alpaca and has the fineness and density of a Vicuna which are significant traits that make up both his dam and sire. He has placed very well with a 2nd at the '03 Futurity and 1st at the '05 AOBA National fleece show beating both S. Andean Night and S. Royal Bronze who were in the same class."
Dam:
Peruvian Wonder
| AOA# 807331 | white
|
Peruvian Wonder is the daughter of a MB 4P import with a strong vicuna phenotype and the one and only, The $1,500,000 dollar Herdsire, 4P Legacy. Legacy passed away in late 2008 leaving 389 remarkable offspring to carry on his considerable… well… Legacy.
Wonder was born the same year as her Rockstar half-brothers Snowmass Legacy Gold and Snowmass Millenium. Wonder’s dam had another cria in 2008, at age 16 (maybe 17?). Wonder received strength and vigor from both of her parents, this is one solid lady; she goes around 180 shorn, she weighed in at 218 about a week before one of her more recent births.
Description
Carl Cardigan sells in a package along with his buddies, Herbert T Henley and Don Quixote, $500 for all three Alpacas.
Carl, Herb and DQ are all nice boys. They are trained to eat Alpaca grain pellets out of dog food bowls and come over to the fence to get sprayed by the garden hose during the summer. They sell together, they are buddies and have lived in the same paddock/pasture since they were little.
Carl is the son of our 4P Accoyo Legacy daughter, half-brother to our 4x first place winning Color Champion and son of our medium brown ultrafine herdsire.
Carl's dam, Peruvian Wonder is the daughter of the legendary $1,500,000 Alpaca, 4P Accoyo Legacy and a medium brown female from Kenamari, hand picked by Snowmass in the fourth Peruvian import. Wonder is all white exhibiting the phenotype of her sire, but by breeding her to our medium brown stud we were hoping to draw out her dam's color with this match.
Carl is the maternal half brother of LZJ Charlemagne, our 4x First Place winner and the Fawn Male Color Champion at the 2008 Great Western Alpaca Show (class V). GWAS was the 2nd largest show in the U.S. that year and Senior AOBA Judge Amanda VandenBosch chose Charlie as the Color Champ out of 84 medium and dark fawn males.
Carl's sire is our ultrafine medium brown stud, Snowmass Red Hot Tawny Port. Tawny's first year histogram was a stunning 14.0 microns with 0.0% fibers over 30. 16.3 micron 2nd year, 18.5 micron 3rd year and his 9th year fleece histogram is an outstanding 20.4 microns.
Carl is a large male, taking after his dam's Accoyo heritage with true conformation, a solid frame and strength of bone, about 165lbs. with approximately 3 months fleece growth.
