Description
Nice girl, excellent mom. 1/2 Accoyo. Just added to the sales list 10/13/17.
Mary Jane is the daughter of My Accoyo Pulitzer, son of the renowned Caligula G4572 and Vengador's Accoyo Primrose, the 2001 AOBA National Conference halter Reserve Color Champion, purchased by Magical Farms for a then record $58,000.
Every Alpaca operation needs a female like Mary Jane because she's one in a hundred. Yep, she allows other crias to nurse, which in my experience is a very rare trait. I have seen three crias nurse on Mary Jane all at once. She is a larger framed girl and a good eater so she can handle the extra load. I would say that she could care for her own cria and a bottle baby over a full term if needed. Mary Jane would also make an excellent surrogate for an ET program.
Additionally, she is an easy keeper with a great personality. I wouldn't go as far as to say that she likes to be petted, but she's very used to human interaction. She has been known to sneak up behind while you're busy with something else and pull the work gloves out of your back pocket.
So yes, she's special and deserving of a good home with a knowledgeable new owner that won't allow her to get overextended.
MJ's dam had her last cria at age 14 and nursed her into her 15th year. With a DOB of 11/5/2008, as her breeding manager I would conservatively count on a minimum of 5 more births out of Mary Jane before she retires. (Due to some non-Alpaca circumstances, no Alpacas at Alpine Ranch were bred in 2016, so MJ is coming off a breeding break 2016-2017 and her health and body conditioning are excellent.) With proper management, 6 more healthy babies is certainly within the realm of possibility, ladies in Mary Jane's direct line have done it before.
Due to all of Mary Jane’s outstanding and rare qualities, superior genetics and that she's a proven mom, I’d like to get $3000 for her at this age.
For October of 2017, I will offer Mary Jane for a $1,000 cash sale. With $300 down, I would also accept $125 each month for 6 months. Free delivery within 100 miles of Elizabeth, Colorado, $1.50 per loaded mile thereafter.
Mary Jane sells with a breeding to our premiere stud Snowmass Quechua's Phoenix. If you'd rather breed MJ to your own stud, I can make the Phoenix breeding transferable for use on any female that you own.
