WORTH HER WEIGHT IN GOLD!
Why, you may ask, is a 12 year old female such a valuable member of our herd? Let me tell you the story. Cinnamon came to La Mancha in 2010 along with 3 others, including her best friend, Kiann. On 7/31/2014, Kiann past away leaving a 7 week old cria named Perchik behind. Perchik bacame a sneaky little dude, going from dam to dam looking for a place to nurse, without much success. He did not want a bottle, he wanted a mama! In a true gesture of love for her BFF, Cinnamon soon adopted Perchik as her own. The rest of the story is that Cinnamon already had a 6 week old little girl, Tzeitel. But not to worry, a big strong experienced dam like Cinnamon thought nothing of nursing 2 at a time. She was a doting mom to both cria! We are hoping that nothing like this will ever happen again, but it is always a blessing to have a dam who will nurse another's cria in time of need. She has assisted many crias and their moms since. We have no doubt that Cinnamon will live out her days here at La Mancha. She is a blessing to us all.
Since her arrival at La Mancha, Cinnamon has birthed 5 beautiful cria. We do not know much about Cinnamon's fiber characteristics in her younger years, but we do know that she contributes to the fineness of her crias' fiber now. Cinnamon is a very strong, nice size female who breeds easily and has had no known problems delivering very healthy crias. No doubt she will continue to give us beautiful, healthy cria for many years to come.
