Looking for a producer of a high percentage of Grey or True Black? Quasar may be the one.
Quasar has produced 16 female and 9 male offspring during his breeding career.
Out of 25 registered offspring, 14 have been Grey. Quasar has produced mostly Grey when bred to Grey with a couple True Black or Bay Black. He has also thrown Grey when bred to White or Medium Fawn. He just gave us a True Black boy out of a True Black dam.
Quasar is true stud in that he is the Alpha male on our farm. He has great bone, with dense, crimpy, bright and FINE fiber. He passes along his fineness.
Quasar earned a Reserve Champion at 10 months old and the youngest in the class of 13 judged by Mike Safley in 2005. Quasar took 2nd place at the 2006 Southern Select in 2006, again the youngest in his class at 16 months. At the 2006 Kentucky Classic, Quasar again took 2nd, standing between 2 Scimitar boys, and was the 2nd youngest in his class. Judge Wade Gease gave Quasar high marks for consistency, fineness, density, handle, and high-frequency crimp, along with strong bone and conformation.
Quasar's offspring are also doing well in the show ring. His daughter Zeeva, received a Color Championship at the 2011 OABA Alpacafest. She also received a Color Championship at the 2012 Spring ALSA Alpaca show in Huron, OH.
With the powerhouse genetics of Shaquille, Peruvian Leon, Quicksilver, and Silvio, Quasar could be just the Grey herdsire you are looking for.
We now have girls and boys on our farm to carry on Quasar's tradition and are offering him for sale to possibly work for your Grey breeding program.
We would also consider trading Quasar for another male or a gray female.
Quasar is proudly co-owned with Starling Farms, in Ohio.
