Just entered this year's fleece fresh off the skirting table and he won at Buckeye! Unfortunately I had to try and get fleece for a histogram, so I did a random sampling and was very happy with the results, especially for a True Black...

Magic's first cria is on the ground and SHE is "the nicest alpaca on our farm" (according to the owner). "Fantasy" is out of a black mom and a blue-black color herself. She has brightness and beautiful crimp growing out after her cria shearing. Congratulations Silver Rose Alpaca Farm! In fact other breeders and visiting judges have looked at her and are wowed!
Sharon Loner who couldn't stop commenting on Magic's "fineness and very soft hand"...,"great density" as well as the overall "consistency of crimp". He has "great conformation", is a "lovely boy" and a "very pleasing package."
These are comments we heard from all the judges and it seems to be something Magic is passing along.
Finding a true black with a soft AND dense fleece AND good staple length AND brightness AND outstanding genetics is a wonderful thing.
He is a full Peruvian, 1/2 Accoyo, true black out of Stratosphere and My Black Pearl with Legacy, Astillero, Dom Timbo, and Santana in his lineage.
He's gotten a slow start with breeding because I just wasn't breeding anyone. He's due to have a few more on the ground this 2013 Fall.
