Daughter Golden Girl took the Blue Ribbon & Color Champion at the MIAF 2011 Show here in Michigan!

We challenge you to find a herdsire whose first 7 offspring average a micron of 18.07, SD 3.82, CV 21.34, CF 99.46. And no, they were not tested at birth, but rather all were 7 to 8 months of age and eating grain! All have extreme brightness, zipper crimp, fineness and density.

Here are the stats. Testing by Ian Watt.

    Georgie Boy-white 18.3 SD 4 CV 21.8 CF 99.4 8 months of age
    Vivienne-white 18.7 SD 4.1 CV 22 CF 98.8 8 months

    Ventura-white 18.7 SD 4.4 CV 23.5 CF 98.6 7 months
    Vista-white 18.9 SD 3.7 CV 21.1 CF 100 7 months

Vortex is a rare Full Accoyo male from Multi-Champion producing parents. We are thrilled to have acquired him from Pleasant Hills Alpacas in Oregon where we had a choice of 3 Accoyo Elite sons to choose from. When Vortex was conceived outside breedings to his sire Accoyo Elite were available at $6000 each. Elite is now closed to outside breedings at Crescent Moon Ranch where he resides. His micron at 10 years of age was an impressive 22.8. You will find lots of references to Accoyo Elite in the Snowmass Alpacas breeding program and brochures.

For your convenience, we also accept Visa/MC/Discover

The future of our industry is superior fiber. Let us help you get on that path.

Here are all of Vortex's micron data to date:

    2008: Micron 17.8, SD 3.8, CV 21.4, >30 0.6%. Sample taken 2/11/08 @ 18 months of age.
    2009: Micron 22.4, SD 4.6, CV 20.3. Sample taken 1/01/09 at 29 months!
2010 Micron 24.1, SD 5.0, CV 20.6 at 41 months of age! Sample taken 2/04/10
    2011 Micron 24.4, SD 5.3, CV 21.9, CF 87.3%. Sample taken 1/01/11 @ 52 months of age.

    Dam:
    BMF Taos' Trinity (SOLD)
    | AOA# 20005177  | White  |
Trinity is a 5/8 Accoyo full Peruvian foundation dam who carries an exceptional low micron fleece for her age. She is the first female who was sired by our Legacy son Taos. Because of her fleece qualities, Trinity has garnered multiple fleece awards which is a testament to her superior fineness. For her 7th fleece, Trinity is still holding 17.2 FD along with a Comfort Factor of 99.4! We can’t forget that Trinity is also a breeding dam as well. This type of fleece quality and consistency is what our program is breeding for and we are witnessing this type of quality being passed down to her crias.

Her first two crias produced, Serenity and Millennium, have been females. The fiber quality on these crias is exceptional and overall phenotype spot on. Her last cria Millenium, is a solid rich medium fawn and is a replica of her sire, our Goldsmith boy Ozzy. Trinity may be transparent and throw the color of the sire. This would be a bonus to our program because Millenium is showing that same fineness and crimp structure as her dam.

Trinity has proven her worth as an exceptional producer of quality. Like her sire Taos, she is passing on baby grade fineness and luster. Her last cria, sired by our Mario is another gem to see. Mario infused his tight crimp and density into Trinity's silky fineness and the results are fantastic! The name of this cria is rightly named Mr. Mojo.

Trinity delivered a stunning white female in 2014 (she was bred to Snowmasters Royal Extreme).

We encourage you to review her histogram results and ARI!

    Description

Serenity or Serra as she is called is a second generation girl from Legacy son Taos. She is a ¾ Accoyo full Peruvian gal with exceptional genetics. She was sired by an Accoyo Elite son PHA Accoyo Vortex. Serra brings a well proportioned frame with good bone density and a solid top knot. She is structurally sound and balanced. Her fleece is well worth noting due to her exceptional brightness, high frequency crimp and silky handle.

Serra has matured and carried the incredible fineness of her dam Trinity. She is becoming one of my low micron rock star dams!

For 2014, Serra delivered her first cria, a ultra-white female sired by multi color champion Snowmasters Royal Extreme.

2015, Serra is bred to color champion, Morning Star's Don Diego (a $1,500 breeding fee value). Diego has a track record for producing amazing cria of color out of white dam's. By combining Serra's superb fineness with Diego's density and color (he is a modern dark silver grey), the result should be spectacular!

What is said about Diego (2015 service sire):

INCREDIBLE DENSITY AND LASTING FINENESS IN THIS BOY
His fiber results at just shy of 9 years old are amazing!
2015 Histogram - AFD 20.5; SD 4.4; CV 21.2; %>30 3.3; CF 96.3; still this fineness at 9 years of age for grey is amazing!

His biopsy follicle test (via Ian Watt) is even more impressive!
    Density - 62.8/mm with a Secondary:Primary fiber ratio of 13.1:1.
Only 3 grey alpacas have ever tested higher in density and no grey alpacas have a higher S:P ratio (in fact, only 7 alpacas in ANY color have a higher S:P ratio - including white!). You'll have trouble finding a grey to put up a combination of those kinds of numbers anywhere!

And Diego’s lineage is impressive, too - PPeruvian Pluro, Danko, grandsire Crescent Moon’s Rayo Del Sol (6x Grand Color Champ) and Sire Emerald Farms Rincon Cloud, 2005 AOBA Silver Nat’l Grand Champion, are enough reason to want him in your breeding program!

Diego has many cria on the ground & every one of them is lovely. Morning Star Ranch is very happy with all those they have had and there are 6 that can be seen at Epic Alpacas where Serra is currently agisting. 3 of his last batch of 5 cria are all show-worthy and will be the ring in late 2015!

Diego’s string of blues began in ’07 with a rave review from Judge Wade Gease: “This young man had a presence as soon as he entered the ring. His feet glided across the grass, toes pointed straight ahead. He’s consistent throughout-good density, wonder fib
