TORBIO was an original in every sense of the word. He was one of the original Accoyo Suri herdsires hand-picked by Don Julio Barreda and introduced to the U.S. by Nola Graham. He was the "REAL THING"!
Torbio had tremendous presence. He was very proud of himself, and although he was smallish in stature, he commanded the respect of all the other males in the pasture. He was also one of the last males to survive from that importation, finally succombing to mortality at 21.5 years old. Even at his advanced age, Torbio had a bright glint in his eye, and a spring in his step.
He is best known for his ability to pass his outstanding traits to his progeny. Even on his last day, Torbio's fleece had blinding luster and that greasy feel that we all strive for. He has reproduced himself over and over, with well over 200 offspring registered. He produced champions in the show ring until July of 2011, throwing his luster, lock and density with great regularity.
In 2006, Our Peruvian Accoyo Rockstar won Suri Herdsire of the Year, and his Pop, Torbio, took Reserve Suri Herdsire of the Year! Those are powerful genetics!
Although Torbio is no longer breeding, we have the highest concentration of Torbio genetics anywhere in the world. If you are looking for Torbio genetics, give us a call. Huracan drew our attention immediately as we really wanted some Torbio genetics in our herd and she did not disappoint. She had an impressive show carrier before we began breeding her ~ she was always an easy birther and fabulous mom to some gorgeous cria!
For Example:
In the fall of 2017 Huracan gave birth to Angeldreams Kissed By An Angel, or "Kissy" (fathered by Dakini Fiery Cross by Wyuna) and Kissy was a show-stopper winning a JUDGES CHOICE at the 2018 CABA show at only 6 1/2 months old! Unfortunately we lost Kissy in 2021 to Mycroplasma Haemolamae.
Huracan gave birth to a spectacular little beige boy Angeldreams Jacaerys, sired by WAP's Northstar on June 17, 2024. This little guy showed up with attitude, amazing coverage, lock and luster (like his dad) and let's not forget his strong bone structure. I think we're most excited by the TONS of wrinkles on his neck indicating the fleece still to be expressed!
On June 24, 2025 Huracan gave birth to a beautiful boy, Angeldreams Declan sired by Commandor's Defender of WAP, (full brother of Northstar). He has amazing fleece with stunning luster, locking to the skin and did I mention density!! Wow!! We're happy to also share that he is in the top 10% in his EPD. Declan placed first at the 2026 National Alpaca Show and we're heading to GWAS/RMAS this weekend so stop by and check him out!
