Great Bargain from Agisting Farm

Dreaming Dragon's Autumn Bliss

Huacaya, Female, Proven | Dark Brown

AOA# 30477247   D.O.B. 11/21/2009

Sire:
Nottingham Hollow's Friar Tuck
| AOA# 1216271  | Light Fawn

Dam:
Nottingham Hollow's Black Velvet
| AOA# 30477254  | True Black  |
Nottingham Hollow’s Black Velvet is the second female sired by Thistledown’s Angus of Argyll. Black Velvet’s dam, Miss Wise Obsession is a proven half-Peruvian black beauty out of two black parents, has lovely crimpy fiber, very nice conformation and a rare bloodline. Born on December 30, 2006, this girl has personality and presence as well as great conformation. Her full brother, Nottingham Hollow's Dougal was born on December 11, 2007. Black Velvet grew up over night! She is very attentive to him and joins her dam in watching over him. Black Velvet has grown into a stately female who is friendly and easy to handle. She is the spittin' image of her dam, another true black beauty at Nottingham Hollow. We expect Velvet to follow in the tradition of her dam in the mothering department having plenty of milk and allowing her crias to grow big and strong earning them nick names such as "Tank" & "Super Tanker". This has been a very healthy line with only routine annual vet care to date. On November 21, 2009 Velvet gave birth to her first cria! It's a girl, a little dark brown beauty. The birth was unassisted and somewhat unexpected as it was only day 328 of her gestation. Dam and cria (Autumn Bliss) did wonderfully. Black Velvet was bred with Nottingham Hollow's Friar Tuck, a Light Fawn male out of DAFI Tabitha (WH) and Knight of Camelot (TB). We are quite excited that Tuck has thrown such a dark color! Velvet was bred to Mada Vemi's Amerikhan Legend for her second cria, a true black female named Dreaming Dragon's Amerikhan Mischief. She was bred with Charmed Mark Anthony in the spring of 2013. This was Mark's first attempt at breeding and we weren't sure if he was going to be able to perform. Velvet didn't show any signs of being pregnant but surprised us with a gorgeous little brown girl on May 19 prompting us to name her May Surprise. Velvet is being a wonderful mom after this surprise delivery and Miss May is full of energy.

Description

Autumn Bliss is a recent arrival here at Wildwood Alpacas. She and her male cria are agisting with us until they can be sold. Her owner is in Florida but Bliss has lived in Virginia her entire life. If you have any interest in a proven, healthy, solid brown female who has great mothering skills, please contact us about Bliss.

Autumn Bliss has grown into a beautiful female having pulled great qualities from both her sire and dam. She has the stately, regal look of her dam and grand dam and the wonderful conformation of her sire. Though listed as medium brown she has a wonderful red tint to her fiber that spins into a beautiful yarn on it's own or gives depth if blended.

Her fiber won fifth place in both the MABA and VAOBA spin off competitions in 2011, not too shabby for her first entry in two popular shows.

Bliss was bred in the spring of 2014 to HDF Hunter out of Wildwood Alpacas. Hunter has proven himself in the show ring and in fleece competitions and even has a Reserve Color Champion banner and multiple halter and fleece ribbons to prove it. Judge Wade Gease's award of the Reserve Color Championship to Hunter and his comments on how incredibly uniform and truly beautiful Hunter's fleece displayed is priceless.

UPDATE: WE HAVE A BABY BOY! Bliss delivered a beautiful little boy completely unassisted on Mother's Day. Sired by champion silver grey HDF Hunter, he is already growing and gaining and she is sorting out this whole motherhood thing. He is named Blissful-Lee after both his alpaca and human mom's.
