    Clayfarm Mahatma's Raphael 0902 (Deceased)

Huacaya, Herdsire (Male), Proven | White

    AOA# 31220415   D.O.B. 6/21/2009, Full Peruvian

    Sire:

    Dam:
    Alpine Fiber's Lotus (Deceased)
    | AOA# 30324039  | White
Bert Smith of Alpine Fiber Alpacas writes:
Lotus is out of PPeruvian Elva and Accoyo Zen Do. Her fleece is absolutely striking! For anyone focusing on fiber character, Lotus is your girl. It has uniform, well defined architecture throughout and is exceedingly bright. A pairing with Elite, a pillar in Crescent Moon’s breeding program and Snowmass Alpacas before that (18.2 Microns at 6YO) is bound to produce a world class cria. Male or female, this one is bound to be a winner.

We are looking for Lotus to be a cornerstone in our white program.

    --NOTE--
2012 Lotus had a heat-related abortion this year. She has been sent back to Road Warrior for a 2013 baby.

6/17/2011 Lotus delivered a 22 lb white male by Victor's Hemiaccoyo™ Apocalypse. She will be rebred to Accoyo America Road Warrior.

6/21/09 Lotus just delivered a white Mahatma son this morning. Bert called and said he was up within 20 minutes and nursing. Lotus will be rebred to Victor's Hemiaccoyo™ Apocalypse of Timberland Alpacas before coming to Indiana in the fall.

5/15/20 -- Lotus delivered a beautiful white girl by Snowmass Arch Angel today. The girl was up and nursing within an hour. Lotus will be rebred to Accoyo America Arctic Warrior.

    Description

According to the ARI database, Raphael is Mahatma's first son. Bert Smith describes his fleece as "incredible". That said, Raphael will be coming to Indiana in early January. This should get him used to the Midwest winter as well as allow us to prepare him for the spring shows. Raphael is one of the first Mahatma offspring, and is shaping up to be (IMHO) one of the best! We are fully expecting this young male to join our herdsire Valedar as one of the premier white sires in this area.

Raphael was just shown in his first show; the Futurity. He finished 2nd in the first half of the Juvenile males out of 12. The animal that won the class went on to capture the Reserve Championship. We have decided to keep Rafe in full fleece for the Nationals in Fort Wayne. Hopefully the weather will cooperate and stay relatively cool. Wish him luck!!!
