North Plains Alpaca's Peruvian Sydney is an excellent example of success in strategic breeding! We set out to breed Sydney’s fawn dam, Aconcagua to one of the “finest” dark males we could find, BMF Taos’ Zeppelin (owned by Delphi Alpacas). He is a male with extraordinary fleece qualities, consistent, low microns, low CV’s, and an impressive “zipper” style crimp character. Zeppelin may be a bay black, but it wasn’t the dark color that we were breeding for, it was fleece! Fleece! Fleece!
