Fiber Optic quite simply stated has an elite fleece. Well organized staples, extreme brightness, high frequency, and high amplitude crimp, very very fine (16.1 AFD, 2.8 SD, 16.8 CV, .4 >30) and excellent density. Add to that a great head and very typey conformation to his body style,and you have a champion. Fiber Optic's sire is the great Legacy (Herdsire of the year in 2002 and highest selling alpaca EVER!), and his dam is a Peruvian with a 17 micron fleece.
Fiber Optic's first cria have hit the ground, and they are spectacular!!

Description

Hazel has a very soft fleece, which exhibits an exquisite handle. Her fleece has a frequent crimp style that runs from the skin to the tips. As a juvenile, she was never shorn, was the youngest in her class and still took 3rd place in her first show (level 5) in a large class. Her fleece has a 16.3 AFD! Her 2nd fleece is even better than her 1st. Even more consistent, and still that great handle. The judge at The Big E said that she had the healthiest fleece he had seen all show. At 5 years old she carries an AFD of 19 micron, SD of 4.5, Comfort Factor of 98.4 % and fibers over 30 micron of only 1.6%!

How did she get so great?!?! ? Her dam is out of the awesome Inca's Ransom, and her sire is Fiber Optic, the son of the greatest alpaca stud ever, Legacy. Fiber Optic is doing a great job filling his father's footsteps, as he is an 8-time Champion and is producing spectacular cria. This year we bred her to FMA Greybeard's Dark Knight. We can't wait to see what their cria will look like. Update she has a multi colored whit cria absolutely gorgeous.

Hazel is such an eye catching girl and a great addition to our herd!
