The previous owner micron check tested his fiber in 5/22/2008 - AFD 18.43, SD 4.16, CV 22.57, %>30 0.78, CURV 49.7, SF 18.19 and 4.2 lbs fleece weight. This gave him an EPD that year of 1.2% for AFD, SD, and %>30 and an EPD less than 1% for SF.

From the Hannahruh lineage, Genny has as great potential to produce grey or spotting. She has proven herself to be an excellent mom and produces beautiful fiber on her crias.

Her first cria by Orionn was a white / spotted male that had fantastic fiber. Due to lack of documentation when we bought him at her side, we never were able to show him, but can attest that his fiber stayed fine, shiny, and crimpy well into his maturity as he produced fiber for our farm.

Description

This boy did not get the time he deserved in the show ring simply because we run a very small string and had to make a cut. However, when parted this year, we were surprised with how well he is maintaining his fineness, uniformity and crimpy style that he is a getting a rare second chance.

Spindrifter's sire, Orionn, has shown us that his crias are always fine and crimpy but sometimes their best fleece doesn't show until they are maturing. One of our fiber boys, that came to us with his dam unregistered and without details of his birth (and hence, still unregistered) STILL has that same crimp and fineness as a mature male.

We are confident that Drifter will also maintain this high degree of fineness and crimpy across his uniform and dense blanket as he matures. He is on our price list simply because we have his dam and sire and several siblings. This boy will bring his sire's genetics of longevity of fiber qualities to your herd.

We were very happy with this ribbon.... AutumnSun's Glacial Melt and AutumSun's Spindrifter both showed in a large and competitive class of 11 males that included several nice alpacas from well known farms. Glacial secured his 2nd behind a nearly 2 yr old male of MFI Jeremiah / Snowmass genetics. We were thrilled that Spindrifter stayed in the class at his very first show, as other notable alpacas were walked.
