    Duke Alphaynian Starbuck

Huacaya, Herdsire (Male), Proven | Medium Silver Grey

    AOA# 35112785   D.O.B. 9/16/2015

    Sire:
    Derwydd Lucinano's Totora
    | AOA# 30682252  | Medium Fawn  |
Make that 8!! TIME Champion!! Halter & Fleece!!

SECOND PLACE GET OF SIRE - California Classic 2012!!! YIPEE!!

FIRST CRIA ON THE GROUND and he is a STUNNING Dark Silver Grey with just an absolute PRESENCE about him - oh and crimp, and bone, and bundilng... Catch him at the spring show circuit where Derwydd shows!

Well now we can add DENSITY to his list - Tortora's skin biopsy is back and we have upped his
stud fee based on the numbers! wow. Density: 50.3 /mm2 ~ Secondary:Primary fiber ratio: 10.0 :1
Pretty good for a fawn guy with a GREY sire!!

    Lineage!!
Derwydd Luciano's Totora.. we took our VERY BEST DAM - Inti-Sapa's Sunrise (2x Champion - incredible fleece) and bred her to Peruvian Luciano(Rose Grey).. who has created a number of champions for us. His progeny have collected over 19 Champion awards. We wanted incredible fleece, great density, long staple, and wowee style.. and boy did we get it.

Totora has Style.. capital letter style! His has a perfect head, dense thick bone, level topline, well balanced dimensions, correct angulation and teeth exactly where they should be. His fleece exhibits a high frequency, low amplitude crimp, distinct bundling, brightness, density and a soft hand. ALL of which is why he has been awarded 8 Championships/Reserves in both Halter and Fleece - so the judges have seen the entire package and also seen the stand alone fleece qualities and agreed.. this male deserved the championships he won!

First crias are on the ground and are looking good!

    ARI# 32444032 | DOB: 6/1/2012
This girl came from 2 champion winning parents and is developing into a fabulous girl with presence and style. Her fiber is very dense, extremely soft, crimpy, bright and consistent throughout. Her conformation is spot on with a sturdy well balanced frame. She has a great personality on top of her numerous other qualities.

    Description

What to say about Duke. When he stepped off the trailer we knew we had something special. When you start looking at his pedigree it only makes it better. Duke is the son of 8X Champion, Derwydd Lucinano's Totora, as his sire, he has presence, density, and consistent crimp architecture throughout with a soft hand. In making his Show career debut last fall, he has not missed a show that the judge has not had numerous compliments on frame, coverage, walk, spectacular uniform fiber and yes attitude. Duke is mild mannered and very easy to handle. All the attributes we were looking for in a Herdsire. For a fiber industry, his fiber is remarkable for its density, length, brightness, uniformity and organization. His genetics will be an outstanding addition to any color breeding program.
Duke will begin his breeding career Spring 2017, we cannot wait to see what he produces. He is a stunning looking, up and coming, herdsire with solid proven genetics and is proving to be a male that we will use for years to come.

Co-owned with Brenda & Ken Clark of Tartan Acres LLC, Homer, New York .
