    What a surprise! Patches popped out as a light fawn with some speckles and spots, but by the time she was 6 months old, her topline was showing a beautiful light grey. She has been a winner from day 1, and dominates the fleece shows with her fineness and uniformity. Patches is a 3X Fleece Champion at the largest suri shows in the country, and was even awarded 1st Place at the 2009 AOBA World Fleece Show. She produces a uniform grey fleece with notable fineness and consistency. The color is a beautiful bronzed silver grey, and is gorgeous when spun into yarn. Patches is a smaller female, weighing only 130 lb in good condition. However, she births easily, has lots of milk, is a great mother, and is truly a treasured foundation dam for Wild Rose.

    Patches delivered a beautiful harlequin cria in 2014, WRSR Pepper Dot by Coalossus, and as she turned 1 year old, her fleece grew out a dark silver grey. She still has spots on her face and legs, making her very showy and flashy, just like her mom, Patches.

    Patches was bred to Shasta Springs Fusion and delivered a beautiful appy male cria, WRSR JackKnife by Fusion, on August 5, 2016. He has beautiful distinct dark fawn spots on a silver grey base - gorgeous!

    She was bred to Fusion for a May 2018 cria, and delivered another stunning appaloosa female on 6/6/18, "WRSR Sweet Spot by Fusion". She looks very similar to Pepper Dot and is a light silver grey with spots.

    Description

    JackKnife has the coolest colors and pattern, and is one of the 6 appies produced by Fusion in 2016. He has beautiful luster, good lock structure and fineness, and correct conformation. JackKnife has a playful and inquisitive personality and is easy to handle. His colors are a brilliant dark fawn and light silver grey, and we can't wait to see him shorn to see his spot pattern. Since JackKnife is the product of 2 appy parents, we expect him to produce a high percentage of appaloosas.

    Patches, who is the dam of JackKnife, is a wonderful mother and great foundation dam. She is on the smaller size, weighing only about 135 lbs, but births easily and has lots of milk. Patches is a 3X Color Champions with 8 Blue Ribbons. She has retained her fineness and annual shear weights each year.

    Fusion, his sire, is a strong gentle male with a great personality. His spots are very distinct and bold, giving him a giraffe like appearance. You can best see his spots in his shorn photo on his page. His base color is medium silver grey, with med fawn spots. Fusion has produced 75% appy crias from a variety of dams, and we are learning each year how to reproduce the appy pattern. Fusion is closed to outside breedings, but you can purchase a female bred to him.

    JackKnife settled his first female in the summer of 2018 at just 2 years of age. He produced a beautiful appy female that was sold quickly. He was bred again to 4 females for 2020 crias, and produced 33 appys and 1 harlequin. JackKnife is again bred for another 4 crias in 2021. Can't wait for those spots!

    We have females FOR SALE that are bred to him. Check out Juliette and Solitaire, both proven producers. JackKnife is available for stud for $1500 and includes 45 days board and an ultrasound confirmation. Discounts for multiple breedings!
