Ixion's sire, Patagonia's Ernesto is our magnificent Judge's Choice, 7x Champion & 5x Get of Sire award winning light brown herdsire. He is well known for his ability to stamp his positive traits onto each of his offspring. Ernesto is out of the legendary Patagonia’s Lennox, who has countless ribbons, and is a 14x Get of Sire winner, including 3 Get of Sire blue ribbons!

Ixion's true black Champion maternal grandsire is Patagonia's top Neruda son, Patagonia’s El Vasco, one of the finest and most dense true black males! A skin biopsy by Dr. Evans ranked El Vasco in the top 1% in density (70 follicles SQMM. SP ratio: 13 to 1). At age 10 he was maintaining a 23.6 AFD. El Vasco was sired by the famous exotic modern grey, Patagonia's Neruda. One of the industry's rare dark point grey's, Neruda sold for $205,000 making his genetics some of the most sought after in the country. Vasco's dam, Melrose was sired by PPeruvian Pluro who made a name for himself in Peru, the United States and Australia. Pluro's breeding's were in high demand for his ability to pass on his incredible fleece coverage and large bone.

In 2024, Ixion had one trait ranking in the Top 15% EPDs and Three in the Top 25% EPDs!
