Strong in stature and masculine in presence, Jake is an eye-catching dark silver gray with excellent confirmation and dense fleece from ears to toes. With a medium rose-gray patch on one leg, black lower legs and white face, Jake should be able to pass on a variety of colors to his progeny.

    Del Ria is a tall, stretchy, beige female that has produced cria in beige, maroon, white, fawn and brown - three males and four females. Her sire, DeMonte was one of the densest Huacaya herdsires at Alpacas of America, a trait he passed on to Del Ria.

    Description

    Beau has a strong, upright conformation, heavy bone and a correct bite. His fleece has a high amplitude, high frequency crimp the entire length of the staple; bright bundles give his outer fleece that "popcorn" look. Judge Ruth Elvestad commented that Beau had "crimpy fleece from skin end to staple end and a soft, soft handle". The crimp goes into his neck and tight topknot. Hand spinners have asked to purchase his fleeces. Beau is an enthusiastic breeder.

    His dam, Del Ria, was one of the best production females at JRAM Alpacas...birthing easily and producing plenty of milk, with her cria gaining about a pound a day. Beau's sisters have followed their mom's example and are excellent mothers. It is expected that Beau will have a good influence over the milk production of his female offspring.

    His first cria, JRAM's Patrone, a medium silver gray male with a nice bundled architecture and crimpy fleece. Patrone's micron on his cria fleece was 17.7. Patrone and his dam - a tuxedo black - were purchased and his dam has been bred back to Beau for another try at gray. We feel he has the potential to create award-winning offspring.

    Beau is holding his fineness and consistency in his fiber. Check out his fiber stats at the bottom right corner of the page. Beau's dam has had a lot of influence on his fiber as at age 11, her histogram stats were: AFD: 26.8; SD: 5.2; CV: 19.5; CF: 78.5; Curve: 32.2. His sister, Maude, at age 8 has histogram stats of: AFD: 20.4; SD: 4.6; CV: 22.8; CF: 97.3.
