In 2014 we purchased 2 juvie Cinders’ daughters from Cinders of Ricochet Ranch, GLR Phoebe and GLR Ongeleigh. These 2 females helped us win the 2015 AOA Classic Breeders cup at the AOA fleece show and Black female Champion at Suri Network fleece show along with multiple halter championships, 7 banners in all. These 2 females brought our black breeding program to a new level of fiber statistics. Ongeleigh's first Histogram in 2015 At 8 months AFD 19.2, SD 5.4, CV 28.1, >30 4.6% 2nd histogram in 2016 24 months AFD 20.0, SD 6.4, CV 32.2 , >30 7.4% 3rd histogram in 2019 at 5 years AFD 22.6, SD 7.3, CV 32.2 , >30 10.9%Ongeleigh's 2016 skin biopsy at 26 months revealed a Density 65, S/P 10.6/1, Secondaries 19.4 primaries 27.8 Spread 8.4 AFD 20.12GLR Ongeleigh 2022 cria is LHSA CALLIOPE. Calliope possesses TRUE BLACK genetics from both her Sire and Dam as well as their Sires & Dams, which includes: Rastamon, Cousy’s Midnight Rock, Cinders, GLR Ali and Shavano. In 2015 LHSA teamed up with OverHome Alpacas to purchase Calliope’s sire GLR Moab a true black 4-time banner winner and half brother to GLR Phoebe on the dam’s side. In addition to show results, we rely heavily on proven genetics and fleece data as the determining factors in our breeding program. Strict adherence to this standard and years of research has come to fruition with GLR Ongeleigh.
