    fine black/Orlando Cloud Grandson

    JJA Cloud Pleaser's Polson

Huacaya, Herdsire (Male), Proven | True Black

    AOA# 30718661   D.O.B. 6/25/2018 (8 yrs) , 7/8 Peruvian

    Sire:
    JJA Cloud Pleaser
    | AOA# 31228558  | Bay Black  |
Cosmo's listing is just for reference for his offspring. He had to be put down summer of 2018 due to a hidious facture in his upper hind leg.
I couldn't resist the "Cloud" play on words with Orlando Cloud being such a big influence in the gray world. We call him Cosmo and he really is pleasing to the eye and hand! This bay black guy has an incredibly long staple and a 19.3 micron 18 month fleece. He received very respectable ribbons in his classes even though the staple and fineness holds back that density somewhat. He was always considered the finest in the class by the lady judges. At birth he had crazy knots of tight crimpy fiber.
This guy has 2 fantastic grey parents. His dam was purchased by us back in 2005. Her full peruvian heritage, perfect conformation and high frequency fine fleece was exactly what we wanted. Her extreme density became apparent once mature. Her sire is Fire N Ice. Cosmo's sire Orlando Cloud was not on my breeding possiblities list for his dam as it made more sense to breed her to a full peruvian gray-market wise. There just wasn't a gray in the midwest who had better fiber than she did and was full peruvian. When I saw a sample of Orlando's fiber at a distance, yes, it stood out from at least 20 feet away!). I quickly got the scoop on the guy. He was standing stud in Iowa so it worked out well. His Accoyo Victor genes and the great Bolivian and Chilean sires in his background created a wonderful animal.
Cosmo is great on halter and is easy to handle for herd health days. He has made several blacks with the fawns and browns he was bred to. Very nice fiber. He is retaining very nice fineness and I'm awaiting a histogram for his 2015 fleece. Can't beat the conformation on this guy and his grey and black genetics!

    Dam:
    JJA Camellia's Cahlua
    | AOA# 31913188  | Dark Fawn  |
This is a hard one to sell since she embodies "foundation female". Such a solid girl on many fronts. Cahlua's parents both possess fine fleeces with extremely low guard hairs. Her sire Royal Adonis (Black) is extremely dense and was 26.7 micron at 8 yrs and a heavy breeder while her dam's lines wonderful density tends to show up more in their yearling year. Shine inherited from both sides along with great architecture of high amp/med-high frequency crimp. Very square conformation. Since she place 2nd in 4 shows that were highly competitive as a juvey I expect her to place better as a yearling once those accoyo density genetics kick in. She has a sweet personality too! I have a photo of her as a yearling standing stock still while an orphaned cria tried to nurse her!

Yes! She had a gorgeous black male, sooo soft. I think he is going to be special! She has been an excellent mother. Unfortunately, before I could rebreed her to Cosmo (Orland Cloud boy Cloud Pleaser), Cosmo had an extremely bad compound fracture happen in a hind leg. He was not a good candidate for recovery do to his size and leader of the pack nature and had to be put down. She would make an excellent offspring with our TB male Seismic who has the most potent black and grey genetics! He also puts out excellent fiber. His main competiton at the shows he went to was Jacob Black who shares about 3/4 of his genetics. Jacob Black went to a heck of a lot more shows though. Anyway, We will probably be keeping Polson, Cosmo's only offspring on our farm. He is looking incredibly nice and is TB.
9/2/2020: Cahlua had a modern dark rose grey/maybe silver grey male from breeding with Seismic. Long staple and REALLY nice crimp on this one at just a few days old. His name? Hue Jackman! Jack has a very mellow, sweet personality. Hue Jackman sold in spring of 2021 as a future breeding male.
Since she has thrown black when bred to black, let us see what she does when bred to our grey Primus. They have similar large, sturdy frames and their fiber should compliment eachother. YES! Cahlua birthed a light silver grey (maybe going to rose grey) from her breeding with Primus. We named this super friendly, gorgeous boy Primus' Prime Time as he was born in the morning of a day that was going to hit 95 and several hot days after. So it was great timing on her part.
She is selling pregnant by Seriously Silver.

    Description

Polson is looking very awesome. His sire Cloud Pleaser was one of Orlando Cloud's first offspring. Polson also has other noteworthy relatives such as CPeruvian Silvio & Fire N' Ice. His dam Cahlua was one of our most solid Adonis females ever. After seeing the 2 cria he helped create this summer of 2024, we bred him to as many as we could. He made a medium silver grey female out of a lsg and improved on density, crimp and bone. His 2nd one is a TB out of a DB with black tips. Improved on fineness, density (hugely), crimp & amplitude, staple length. 2025 will be so exciting to see if he keeps up the grey and black offspring!

    Awards

    Polson placed 3rd, 4th & 5th at the 4 shows in 2019
His sire Cloud Pleaser didn't do well his first year despite fantastic fiber (histogram verified) because of super long staple length that took out crimp and is hard to verify density. Polson is making fantastic babies and he is very dense but fine with lots of crimp. A Grandson of Orlando Cloud, he doesn't disappoint. Making huge improvements on greys and blacks. Check out his grey girls Pixie and Posie.
