Brokered by Lindsay Betz of Summer Hill Farm for American Pride Alpacas!

        ........

Legacy's half-share sold for $750,000, making him the first Million Dollar Alpaca! Kryptonite's half-share sold for $175,000, making him second in line as the highest priced black alpaca ever sold.

Kryptonite was a National Champion in 2003 and in 2002 was the Futurity Reserve Black Male Champion. He won 6 additional championships under many different judges and spanning 3 spring show seasons.

Krypton is Kryptonite's first-born son and brings together two Accoyo lines with a massive infusion of color (both grand dams are black).

Readily visible by his photograph is that he has the "WOW Factor," and his fleece is no disappointment - dense, fine, very high frequency and growing a long staple length. Please notice his 2007 micron report at two years of age. He had 5.5 lbs of this fine fleece shorn from his blanket alone. This is a male which will hugely impact any colored breeding program in a very positive direction. He was shown only in 2006 and does not need to be shown again.

Fawn daughter APAR Sarah [ARI: #32073973] is a lovely, phenotypically perfect female with a soft handle. Her gray son Quasar [ARI: #35095897] had a 16.1 AFD at seven months! His crimp is incredible and his fleece is as bright as a star. Her daughter Lei Lani is a gorgeous dark brown (turning modern grey) who loves water.

Medium Brown daughter Krypton's Miss Molly [ARI: #32073980] has a rich color, perfect conformation, an incredibly soft handle, and a uniform fleece.

Bay black daughter APAR Moreneta [ARI: #32073959] is described by judges as having wonderful brightness, fineness, and handle.

Dark brown daughter Krypton's Kryptonia [ARI: #31333771] is a strikingly attractive female whose rose grey hues are shining through.

Medium brown sons APAR El Viento [ARI: #32073942] and Krypton's Winnetou [ARI: #32073867] have gorgeous fleeces with a pumpkin spice hue. They also all have big, entertaining personalities.

Current youngest son Summer Hill Superman is a striking true black male with presence and a soft handle!

        2011 Fiber Data:
        AFD: 26.6 microns, SD: 5.2 microns, CV: 19.6%, Fibers >30 microns: 21.1%

As far as personality goes, Krypton has a big one! He is vocal and expressive. In short, he's a hoot.

        Description

Winnetou was a bottle baby who became an aggressive adult. He has charged and stomped people to the point that people entered his pen armed with a stick. But, despite the odds, he has really mellowed out.

We first realized it when he cut his leg and needed it treated. He allowed people to wrap his leg and was given treats to cheer him up. It caught everyone's attention that he wasn't acting aggressively anymore.

We can freely enter his pen and give him hugs and kisses and ear rubs. The worst he does is spit if you pet him too much without grain to offer!

You may have noticed the entertaining facial expression Winnetou makes in his photos. They are often accompanied with cartoonish sound effects and the occasional antsy squirm. He cracks me up!

Winnetou is reasonably well-behaved on a halter with his only flaw being crowding me for grain. He is, after all, a dude who loves food.

Winnetou will remain a pen companion with his nephew Malibu (who definitely is dominant over him) and severalother males. His fleece, which is a gorgeous pumpkin spice, will be processed and sold. Unfortunately, we will not be able to offer him as a stud. After all, he has gotten his temperament under control. The last thing he needs is surging hormones!

He has beautiful pumpkin spice colored fiber.

I love this boy and I am so thrilled to have him with us!
