    Sale Pending! Rose Gray!

WAP Simply Mauvelous by Black Label

Suri, Female, Proven | Dark Rose Grey

    AOA# 32355291   D.O.B. 8/30/2011, 1/2 Peruvian, 1/2 Bolivian

    Sire:
WP Captain's Black Label LTD _deleted
    | AOA# 1099843  | True Black  |
Black Label is an incredible black suri herdsire...and the judges appear to agree! Out of our 4X Reserve Suri Herdsire of the Year, Captain Morgan, and Inca daughter, DDF Sophia, Black Label has made a name for himself in the showring - check it out! His cria production has been simply amazing! Out of 18 cria, he has produced 7 true blacks and 4 greys, including 2 rose grey. All possessing luster and excellent fleece coverage, Black's crias are all that we had hoped for.

Black sports luster to spare (typically hard to come by in a black), tiny pencilled locks, abundant coverage head to toes, and excellent density. A very typey suri head and beard complete this black package. Add his very mellow personality (PR guy in the breeding male pen!) and he brings everything to the table. Black Label is poised to move YOUR breeding program to that next level. Call us to reserve your breeding.

    Dam:
    TJA Sprite
    | AOA# 300855717  | Light Fawn  |
7/8 Bolivian, 1/8 Peruvian - Sprite is a light fawn female, with beautiful luster and hand to her fleece. She is very upright in her stance and carries excellent conformation throughout.

Sprite and Captain Morgan produced a stunning dark silver gray male, Shadow Man, born 7/1/08. Combining the gorgeous luster of both of these animals has resulted in an exceptional offspring.

We chose to breed Sprite to the "next generation", Rasta Man, one of our incredible Captain sons. Their daughter, Sierra Mist, DOB 7/10/09, carries the Captain Morgan stamp of......luster! She's a very striking female with excellent conformation and a stance that says, "Whoo hoo, look at me!"

Sprite just delivered one of our most stunning females to-date......A daughter by Captain's Black Label. A rose grey, "Simply Mauvelous" will take your breath away. Born on 8/30/11 at a whopping 24 lbs., this mauvey/rose-grey girl hit the ground running. SHE is not included in the purchase of her dam BUT...Sprite will be bred back
    Service Sire:
    BIG TIMBER'S QUEBRACHO
    | AOA# 35113270  | Light Fawn
Breed by the numbers -- SHIP classified, biopsy results, show history, EPDs and histogram, it's all there!! First four cria in 2019 were spectacular, next in 2020 and 2021 were just as good as expected!

Breeding for luster, fineness and density, we are excited to announce that we have again partnered with Uber Alpacas to bring the 2017 winner of the Futurity Suri Light Fawn Male class to Sandollar Alpacas in 2018 and begin his breeding career! Now is the time for the new small breeder of exceptional suri alpacas to upgrade their breeding program to a suri male in the top 5% in the country.

In addition to his 2017 Futurity blue, he earned the 2017 AOA banner and Judge's Choice award at the National Fleece Show besting 97 entries... he earned a total of six blues during his show career!

Dr. Norm Evans reports that his biopsy results in ALL categories put him in the top 2-3% of males whose biopsies he has analyzed. His 2017 biopsy results are incredible:
    68.75 follicles SQ/MM - 54.76 average
    14.5 to 1 for S/P Ratio - 10.21 average
10.8 micron variation between secondaries and primaries, 11.09 average
20% secondary fiber medullation, 21.9% average
4 out of 4 gland presence.
    20.04 micron AFD, 21.9 average
His glandular infrastructure accounts for his high level of luster and his low medullation is associated with excellent handle. This is a highly heritable trait.

In 2017, Quebracho was evaluated by Cheryl Gehly of the Suri Network Suri Herd Improvement Program (SHIP) and received top scores (1-5 with 5 being the highest score possible). He scored 5s on all conformation traits and 4's and 5's on his fleece traits with an overall score of 4.625!

Quebracho comes from the highest quality champion genetics. His multi-champion stud female line includes the best: Arizona Sage, Accoyo Starcrossed, Eleuteria and Accoyo Harmony. His sire, SBS Stardust, is a multi champion, with all star genetics behind him as well. Lingering fineness is a hallmark of his genetic pool coming from his dam side.

Look at the color genetics behind this male. He should throw amazing color in his crias when bred to color, along with his lingering fineness, luster and density. As a 5 year old working male, his AFD is still only 24.9 microns based on the SGS Fiber Report completed September 7, 2021.

Quebracho is a strong, well balanced true to type male. His fleece shimmers with luster on the inside and outside and his highly aligned, dense, fine locks are absolutely stunning. No wonder when you see his biopsy and histogram results.

His current EPDs rank in the top 10% to 15% in 4 categories. Quebracho's quantitative data supports his position as a top ranking herdsire in the country. Let the data speak for itself. He is the total package in all fleece and conformation traits, and is ready to take your breeding program to a higher level.

    Description

Well, as you can tell by this little girl's name, she is a rose grey - rarest color out there for an alpaca. One look at her fleece and you'll go "WOW"!

Her sire, WP Captain's Black Label is a Captain Morgan son and Macgyver grandson, none of whom need any introduction. We are proud to own another one of Wings and a Prayer's female production dams.

Her dam, Sprite, produced 2 greys along with a black and a dark brown. She was an exceptional, nurturing mom, with good birth weights (average of over 20 lbs.!) and healthy cria. These are very heritable traits. Mauve weighed 24 lbs. at birth and was 75 lbs. at 5 months of age. She has good bone, excellent conformation, and stands out in a crowd. And, her sire, Black Label, has produced many, many blacks and greys, especially out of lighter dams.

Her best showing included a blue at Futurity in 2013 and blue at both the 2012 and 2013 CABA Classic.

Open her fleece and that's where she shines, literally! This girl has exceptional luster (typically not found this striking in greys), a silky hand, density and coverage, head to toe.

Mauve delivered her 2nd cria 9/17/15 - a gorgeous, true black female sired by Torvo, a true black grandson of the incomparable Torbio! Mauvelous was bred to an up and coming herdsire, Argo by Commandor. She delivered a stunning light brown male on 7/9/17.

For her next outing, she was bred toAdmiral's Commandor and produced a stunning female on Collins' birthday, August 21, 2018.

Mauve was bred to our 2017 Futurity winning Quebracho for her 2019 cria; what a pairing that was, a dynamite dark brown male cria named Tobacco Row. Unfortunately the majority of the show season was cancelled, so he was not shown.

We repeated the breeding to Quebracho for 2020; and she carries and births easily, and is such a nurturing mom with tons of milk! And voila! A dark mini-me female that we have named Priscilla was born in the summer of 2021! Watch for her in the show ring next year!

Now that we have one of Mauve's little girls in our program, we would love to re-home Mauve to a wonderful farm where she could live out her remaining days. Love this color! Her most recent histogram at age 10 was 30 microns, not bad for such a dark color!
