The stars aligned just right, and Lord of Sipan was the result. We happened to have our full-Accoyo Poseidon daughter (with fawn genetics) in Virginia, at Double O Good Alpacas (home of Matrix), to deliver her cria by Royal Fawn. So, when I saw that a rare Matrix breeding was donated to the International Alpaca Odyssey in California, I bid to win! Sipan arrived 12 months later--born at Derwydd Alpacas, he was instantly a favorite of Jan Davis (who knows a thing or two about alpacas). She loved his bright, bright fawn bundles and beautiful crimp style.

Sipan has matured to resemble his sire, Snowmass Matrix (you know--the highest selling alpaca EVER at $675K!) in fleece style, conformation and temperament. He is a very compact male, but perfectly conformed according to the judge at AlpacaFest West in 2015, who awarded him a blue ribbon. It's impressive that a compact male would place in the top 2% EPD for Fleece weight, but he did! That is evidence of his great density and long staple length.

An outstanding fiber artist with a wealth of experience with various fibers said of Sipan's fleece, "This is the most INCREDIBLE FIBER I have ever worked with!" She went on to rave about how it is finer and has a better handle than angora rabbit, etc... This is rare praise, indeed!

Sipan has 5 crias born in South Carolina--2 are GREY!!. One more cria due in Fall, 2018, but Sipan is back home at Alpacas of Marin in the North San Francisco Bay area, and ready to get back to work!

Imagine our excitement when the mill processing her 2011 fleece called us and encouraged us to enter her yarn in the AOBA National Show. They said that her yarn practically glowed - even though she was huacaya it had the luster of a suri. She garnered a 2nd place finish in the show, with the judge's comment that her yarn had the best handle of all skeins shown!

Yes, he really is white. As you can see from the fleece shot, he has some super shine going on despite the Carolina clay. Booker comes by that honestly. His dam, Beachwood's Amazing Grace garnered a 2nd place ribbon for her mill spun skein at the Nationals with the judge's comment that her yarn had the best hand of all skeins entered! The skein was entered at the encouragement of the mill who called and raved about her brightness rivaling the high luster of a suri. Booker's sire, MRN Matrix Lord of Sipan, comes with his own set of fiber credentials - EPD's in the top 5% for fleece weight, 10% for medulated fibers. 15% SD, 25% for micron count and staple length!!!
He has a low key, laid back personality to boot.
Take advantage of package pricing and make a little fiber herd by buying him with his 1/2 brothers, Panic Button, Express Lane, and Dewey. You will be glad you did at shearing time.
