2012 has been good to Jacob Black. Every show he went to, he was the Color Champion, and it didn't matter if it was the Futurity or Nationals.

He finished 2012 with a stellar 19 halter champion banners!

Jacob Black has great conformation, a beautiful fleece, and a handsome head. His true black fleece is extremely uniform with a very expressive crimp style found normally on white animals. His personality is laid back and gentle.

Jacob Black started showing when he was 9 months old, and since that time, he bannered in every show he went to, with the exception of a blue ribbon at the Futurity when he was 10 months old.

Jacob is not available to outside breedings.

He will be an exclusive, restricted herdsire for our black program, and he will join 15 time champion Knight Rider in producting show winning blacks.

Update: Jacob Black wins Reserve Dark Herdsire at the 2015 Futurity and the 2016 Futurity! That is a fabulous achievement!

Update: Jacob Black's crias are outstanding, and many of them are already champions themselves!

We are proud to announce that we were able to purchase Shades of Ebony at the 2017 Futurity Auction. She was a very sought after lot and are happy that Julie and Mike Delaney offered her for sale. Shades of Ebony generated a lot of interest at the auction and we feel that the fleece manipulation that comes with that cost her the championship. We are confident that she will rebound and banner once again at GWAS.

Description

Congratulations and Thank You to Healing Spring Suris for your purchase. Cleopatra is a gorgeous true black female out of our 5-time banner champion Irish Meadows Shades of Ebony and the one and only Avalon’s Jacob Black. Cleopatra has perfect conformation; her frame is robust but feminine and she has a very beautiful head! Her fleece is exceptional, very fine, very soft with a high frequency crimp and no white fibers. Cleo’s fleece is also very uniform throughout and well organized! She started her show career in her cria fleece and placed well among highly competitive classes filled with entries from the top black breeders. Cleopatra’s demeanor is energetic and amiable. We have recently repeated this breeding because she is one of our all-time favorites. Cleopatra has had a detailed auction pre-purchase exam including a full reproduction exam but was unable to attend the auction due to transportation issues. Her ovaries are cycling and will be ready to breed after the spring show season.
Cleopatra sells with a breeding to any Flying Iron Ranch herdsire.
