At birth, we knew he was something special. It was birthing season and there were a lot of cria on the ground...
When we saw him our first reaction was ... oh no... because we were breeding for dark colors and Blizzard is obviously white as in WHITE not off white or cream (much less beige) but amazing bright WHITE!
None of our whites have ever been this brite WHITE! Even our white herdsire (Ike) or irridescent boy (Persey is more creamy) haven't been this White!

Calypso's fleece is a bright peachy color with nice crimp and handle! Unfortunately, she was sold (as a cria) as part of a purchase package that defaulted (and eventually came back to us) and so wasn't shown. But she has a nice square frame with excellent bite and conformation!

Her parents have nice fleece stats... Dad is out of the Snowmass gray/black line and has shown retained fineness with nice uniformity. Mom also has shown nice retained fineness. So we think her fleece will follow s...

Description

This boy is a gorgeous golden color that catches everyone's eye. And his fleece has the same soft, dense, buttery feel of his sire. While he was in the maternity ward, he got lots of attention and I took every advantage to fondle his fleece!
In halter at the Gold Country Gathering 2019, Judge Amanda VandenBosch commented on his lovely staple length and solid masculine look (strong bone). Judge Wini Lebrecque commented in Walking Fleece on his nice coverage and uniformity; very bright fleece with nice soft hand and minimal guard hair.
We love this boy and wish we could keep him in our herd. But he's too closely related to the rest of our herd. So we'd love to see him go to a home where he can go to work!

We accept cash, check, Venmo or credit card. Financing is available on all alpaca sales. We can work with your budget. We ask for 25% down, no interest if paid in full within one year of purchase. Purchaser will provide alpaca insurance on each animal until paid in full. Breeding/Show quality maidens come with a free breeding to any Menagerie Hill Ranch owned unrestricted Herdsire. Agisting (boarding) available - 30 days included with in State purchase of breeding quality alpaca. 90 days included for out of state purchases. Purchaser assumes all Vet fees. Transport available - first 100 miles included with purchase of breeding/show quality alpaca. Package deals available.
