Description
Brokered for a ranch in New Hampshire!
Phoxy is a beautiful female with a lot to offer a grey program.
Her pedigree is very richly, very royally grey. Three of her four great-grandsires are impact grey import sires: 5P Socosani, 5P Royal Inca Legend, and 5P Silverado. These males have all helped to shape the North American grey Huacaya alpaca herd. Her fourth great-grandsire, Bolivian Black Thunder, is an impact sire in his own right with an awesome track record for color -- the majority of his 222 registered offspring being grey or black.
This deeply grey and black pedigree suggests that Phoxy should have no trouble producing grey offspring -- a feat that, contrary to genetic expectations, grey alpaca breeders have found is often easier spoken about that done. An added bonus is that, although her grandsires have made a tremendous impact on the grey landscape, Phoxy is not too closely related to most of the popular grey genetics that abound today.
Phoxy herself is a very lovely animal. She is compact in build, with a beautiful, typey head and full topknot. She has great body capacity with a wide, deep barrel. Her conformation is square and correct. She has average bone substance and could use a bit more coverage, though her legs are not bare.
Her fleece has a soft handle, great staple length, and gorgeous, deep lavender color.
Phoxy is another nice grey girl that I have priced, but don't for a moment mind keeping. She is scheduled to be bred to our .38 Special son, .38 Harmony, come spring time.
