----------------------------------------------------

Reading the ARI certificate on Sapphire makes any knowledgeable breeder just drool.

Snowmass Peruvian Casanova…Snowmass Nova…Drambuie…Bueno…Legacy…all on a TRUE BLACK FEMALE.

That is right – she is a product of black on black (black dam and black sire)…and she is following in the footsteps of her siblings…champions! Sapphire earned her first blue ribbon at the age of 7 months.

Crimp? Yep – she’s got it. Handle? Oh yea, softer than a cloud. Brightness? Put your sunglasses on, she is so bright. Density? She has so much fiber, she is already sweating and can’t wait to be shorn again! Fineness? Well…we challenge you to find a black with more fineness. Sapphire is another example of what her dam gives us every time - incredible offspring with fineness, superb fiber, perfect conformation - and a handle that stays with the alpaca as it ages. Sapphire at 20 months was as soft and fine as she was at 2 months. WOW.

Similar to the rare sapphire gemstone, our Midnight Sapphire remains one of most sought after alpaca “types” with her flawless conformation, perfect bite, beautiful handle, crimp, overall “style”, and she has no overtones or secondary colors to lessen her beauty! All of this makes not only a beautiful addition to any alpaca collection but also a fairly sound investment.

Sapphire comes from a line of champions - sister (Midnight Starr - SOLD) and brother (Blackjack - SOLD) have both taken banners and multiple ribbons...Sapphire is just beginning. But more importantly, she carries the foundation guaranteed to be the same outstanding seed stock that you want in your herd. Siblings have proven this by beating out multiple whites and fawns for the coveted Produce of Dam blue ribbon for the dam. It is rare that black beats out any other color when you have multiples...but Magic's offspring consistently does this. Sapphire is no exception. She is another gem.

Sapphire has grey offspring (including a color champion female) and vicuna pattern dark fawn. We have bred her to Creedence for a 2021 offspring.

Description

**Price until she is weaned** Will be weaned at 4 months of age.

We admit it...we were definitely playing on her dam's name - Sapphire - when we named this little gem. But we could not help it when this little girl hit the ground. She is one of the prettiest alpacas we have seen in a very long time. She is simply blessed with striking beauty.

"Fire" has amazing parents - Granite (son of Snowmass Silver Signature, who now resides in Canada at Arriba Linea) and Sapphire (who has given us grey champion offspring). We were a little surprised to see this dark fawn beauty pop up, but she is SO PRETTY that we can't stop looking at her. We suspect that she hails from her sire's side of the lineage (Chloe, who had an amazing micron count even at age 9 and Granite still maintains a micron under 20 this year!) but Fire has such an interesting density, architecture/structure/style to her fleece already, that we just are not sure. Her fleece is dense, crimpy, bundles, is extremely fine, and is abundant (no surprise there) but it is also her cria fleece - once secondaries start to emerge, it may change to a fleece with different style and character.

One thing is certain - this female has strong sturdy frame - thanks to both of her parents. At three months of age, she is surpassing other crias in size and weight - she is strong, solid, healthy, and is maturing at a rapid pace. It is clear that in the future, she will throw color - again, thanks to her black and grey ancestry. She will be fun to pair up in the future with either black or grey. Her price will continue to increase as she ages - she is one to add to your foundation herd as serious breeders look to add color (esp black or grey genetics) to their seed stock diversity.
