Snowmass/CCNF genetic powerhouse

Emelise's Siddhartha

Huacaya, Herdsire (Male), Proven | White

AOA# 35107613   D.O.B. 11/16/2013 (12 yrs)

Sire:
CCNF Archangel
| AOA# 845823  | White
The Arch abides. What can we say about the apple of our eye? We love Archangel so much that his likeness is mounted atop our house in the form of a weathervane! Breeders always talk of finding the alpaca that is the complete package and Archangel is the closest thing to that that we have ever had the privilege of laying our eyes on. His fiber is the equal of any white alpaca we have come across in 20 years of breeding alpacas, yet it grows on a frame that is nearly perfect in form and function. The comments from the judges throughout the spring 2004 show seasons when comparing Archangel to his competition were always to the effect of "this animal was not tip shorn as a cria, and is therefore starting to mat at the tips, yet the fleece is gorgeous once you open it." In fact Archangel was shorn to the skin at 30 days of age (removing 1.5" to 2" at the time), yet is so fine and grows such a staple length that even with that shearing he still had on average anywhere from 2" to 3" inches more staple length than the vast majority of the animals he was in the ring with. Show record aside he was and remains to this day, in 2017, the real deal.

We take great pride in the fact that our breeding program produced such an amazing Herdsire and the offspring that have resulted in the ensuing years have proven without any doubt that Archangel was and is no genetic fluke. His sons King of the Ladies (the 2010 White Futurity Champion) and Avenger along with a myriad of elite daughters here in the CCNF foundation herd are a continuing testimonial to the potency of his genetics. It is not by chance that some of the most important crias born here over the past several years were his grandchildren or even now great-grandchildren. Archangel is proudly co-owned with Stillmeadow Farm.

Dam:
CCNF Guanahani
  | white  |
Guanahani was purchased from Cas Cad Nac Farm at auction. She struck us in every way. Her phenotype is lovely with strong bone and excellent coverage. Her pedigree grabbed our attention next. With strong Snowmass genetics on all sides, her sire is Snowmass Messiah and her dam is Snowking's Marigot. Next came that fleece! Glowingly white and bright and fine yet with incredible density and tight high amplitude crimp. Uniformity within the staple and across the body sealed the deal. We are thrilled that she has maintained these traits through the years and passes them to her cria without exception.

Description

Emelise's Siddhaartha (or Sid to us) is the culmination of generations of elite breeding by the Snowmass and CCNF program. His sire is CCNF Archangel and his dam is the daughter of Snowmass Messiah. He may not know his forefathers but he certainly has the swagger that lets you know he knows he's got something good in him.

He is an easy-to-work-with very laid back and confident male. And he should be with his stunning fleece and flawless conformation. He is extremely fine, soft and uniform and that is not changing at all as he ages. He was a bit of a late bloomer since he was very ill as a cria but somewhere in his third year, he grew into this amazing herdsire. Unfortunately, he was then plagued with recurrent ear infections due to ticks. Sadly, this kept him out of the show ring, All those struggles are far behind him now and he is eagerly breeding. Bring a girl or purchase him for your own program. You'll be so glad you did!!
