Here is what Amanda VandenBosch had to say when she evaluated him for us this February 2006……
“Overall this male is excellent! He is a strong male with excellent substance of bone. He has a triangular head shape with a broad muzzle and good distance from eye to lower face. He is true to type thru his head and overall proportions, exhibiting fineness, uniformity of character throughout the blanket and excellent density for fineness. True Herdsire prospect!

As you can see from his histograms over the years he is VERY consistent. He sheared 13.9 POUNDS in his 2008 annual shearing. 14.2 lbs in his 2009 annual shearing, 14.8 lbs in his 2010 shearing. WOW. DENSE. 2007 Skin biopsy - Follicular Density of 61; S/P Ratio 11/1 Age 15 mo. (Watts 2006)

His 2008 Fleece (4 years old – D age category) Scored 80.5 points at AOBA Nationals 08; Fineness/Handle 18/20!; Crimp 8/10! Manchu was still winning Fleece Championships at 5 years of age. His 2009 Fleece took Reserve Color Champion!! At 10 years of age - 2014 IAO Reserve Longevity of Fineness Champion!!

Manchu’s progeny exhibit all the qualities of their sire. Of the 98 progeny on the ground, 50
have been shown, 21 of those have bannered!!! Almost 1/2 that show, WIN!!

Description

Lily is our largest female at about 180 lbs, with a very gentle attitude.

April 8, 2020 she gave birth to spunky white male out of Alpaca Palace Z-Papabear. Polar Bear was 15.5 @ birth, with legs as straight as an arrow. Doubled his birth weight by three weeks. We are definitely planning on showing and breeding him! At 7 months of age, he has certainly lived up to his name-being big and fluffy, with incredible staple length!

Lily was next bred to Mary's Alpacas outstanding white male, Mary's Accoyo Metrics, and we are not disappointed in this outcome! On 7-8-21 Lily was found with a strong, straight legged white female happily nursing away. Lovely Lady was a fitting name. She is growing tall and straight, like her Mom, and has her Dad's beautiful, soft fleece. She is very easy to handle, mild mannered, and has fuzzy ears, like mom. Great plans are in store for her future breedings....

In spring 2022 Lily was bred to our herdsire, Quatro. His gentle nature matches Lily's, and although he is getting up in years, he still has a very soft handle to his dense fiber. US in September confirmed her pregnancy!
