Mr. Slick is our gorgeous 2019 male. His sire Midas' Black Ice genetics show in his fineness, handle, uniformity, and lock structure. He possesses a friendly temperament, ease of handling, and well halter trained. Mr. Slick's 2020 histogram is back and looks great 15.4 MFD with only 0.2% of his fibers >30. For a very dark brown, Wow!

His Sire, Midas' Black Ice, won color championships 8 times as a juvenile! He then won the first annual Supreme Champion award at the 2016 AOA Nationals Show. His density was 63.25 follicles SQ MM, S/P of 12.5. His secondary fibers averaged 20.2 microns, and primary fibers of 28.1 microns and a spread of 7.9 microns. Midas Black Ice's AFD was 20.83 microns.

Mr. Slick's Biopsy came back. At 2 years of age Density 62.75, S/P 12.2 to 1, Sec 18.9, pri 30.3 spread 11.4
Calculated AFD of 2nd fleece 18.9. Better yet he was very interested in the females at less than 2 and since he had appropriately sized equipment we tried him with a female. 2nd day 2nd try he figured it out and has several girls bred for 2022 offspring. All of this data tells us he is a very good candidate to follow in his sire's footsteps as a breeder. Time will tell.

His Dam, LHSA Orient Express by Railway, revealed a skin biopsy with a Density of 72.62 microns, S/P 8.6, Sec/pri 17.6/24.3 (AFD 18.3) spread 6.7 !! She is in our top 3 females with her fiber stats.

*A word about the health practices at Long Hollow Suri Alpacas… We take the health of our herd seriously.
• All alpacas are vaccinated annually, and bred females are vaccinated 30-60 days prior to birth of their cria.
• Fecal flotations are performed on EACH individual alpaca monthly and treatment is completed on a per alpaca basis.
• All alpacas receive monthly injections as a precaution against meningeal worm.
• Bred females receive a minimum of 1 ultrasounds performed onsite by a veterinarian and our veterinary technician.

We interact daily with all our animals to ensure any medical needs are addressed as needed and this improves their socialization.
