**April 2022 UPDATE**
Mondavi's first crop of crias (on our farm) are growing up fast. We have 3 GIRLS and a BOY!!! All have very nice fleece!!
Female #1, Mondavi's Premiere, is dark brown/bay black with jet black ears and nose. Her dam is Opal, sired by Kobe of PVA. This little one has a very nice pedigree for sure!!

Female #2, Xlite Legacy, medium fawn, also comes from a very nice pedigree...she is a Maxx MacGyver granddaughter out of Bijou Maxx's Kimberxlite!

Female #3, Meiomi by Mondavi, is a pinto beauty! Her fleece is white, medium fawn, dark brown and bay black. This beautiful girl is one to watch for sure. Her fleece is superb and carries her wonderful traits consistently across each color in her blanket.

Male cria, Beringer, looks VERY nice with LOTS of fleece. He started out medium fawn, but is now changing to a gray color!! Modern rose grey perhaps?? He has an impressive pedigree on both sides and will definately be one to watch!

We just cant' say enough about how impressed we are with Mondavi's first offspring!

Mondavi is a hidden gem! He has the outstanding genetics of sire, Kahuna, on one side of his pedigree and 8X Champion Sierra Bonita's Sirius Black on his dam's side. Mondavi has very nice conformation and great density... he sheared a 6 pound blanket at 7 years old!! Although he had a limited show career (which we just recently discovered!), he DID win a blue ribbon as a mature male--almost 4 years old! Even without a Championship banner, Mondavi is a champion quality herdsire in our book! He has been under-utilized as a breeding male and we are so excited to change that! We used Mondavi with one female in 2020 and are planning more in 2021.

**As described by previous owners**

In recent years we have crossed our elite full Peruvian colored breeding stock with the Kahuna line, in an effort to produce the best of both. Kahuna's dominant white genetics rarely result in offspring with as much color. As of January 2014, "Mondavi" is the darkest Kahuna offspring to date.

Given Kahuna's status as the elite light Suri herdsire in the industry, being able to build a marketing campaign around his darkest offspring is something most elite Suri breeders would see as a rare and treasured opportunity.

We are very excited to bring Mondavi to Honey Maple Farms as a herdsire. As you can see from his photos and histogram, he had very nice fleece as a young male. With his pedigree and genetic potential, we are hoping for good things from this guy!

2021 brought us 4 crias from Mondavi and WOW are we pleased with the results! All have gorgeous luster, density and nice conformation. These crias well help us elevate our breeding program..no doubt.

Sierra Gold is the first daughter of Snowmass Nina. Sierra has a fleece with great density and luster and exact conformation with strong bone.

Top 25% EPDs: AFD, SF, %F>30

She has proven her quality in the show ring at the largest shows in the country, earning 1st place at just 6 months of age and she later placed 2nd at the very competitive Futurity.

Sierra has shown that she has inherited her mother's high milk production and ability to deliver strong healthy crias.

Sierra Gold's pedigree reads like a Who's Who of the strongest bloodlines in the industry: Bruxo, Lethal Weapon, Accoyo Inca, Sweet Foxfire Jax, Uribe, Jax Crossfire and a bit of Macgyver. Check out her sire and dam and you will not be surprised at her quality. Her sire, Jax Crossfire, is a five-time champion and her dam has a well-respected show record as well.

Sierra Gold's first cria, Chakotah's Joaquin, is standing stud in Washington state.

In 2011 she delivered a stunning true black female cria, Mocha Twist, sired by Multiple Champion, Peruvian Wyldfyre. Mocha Twist is a high-quality showgirl who placed 1st at Futurity.

Sierra's had another female in 2012 sired by Accoyo Davinci and her female August 2013 cria, Topaz Fyre, who has amazing locks, is another Wyldfyre knockout - She won 1st place at 2014 GWAS!

Sierra Gold is a great production female, who has "criated" many high quality crias over the years. She is another one of those "hidden gems" we love so much!! Her 2012 female cria, Gold Mist (sadly deceased), had some of the best EPDs we have seen!

We are very happy to have Sierra Gold now at Honey Maple Farms. We have her boys, Mystic and Goldbar, and she joined us with ANOTHER outstanding cria at side. Check out her 2021 male cria, Beringer. He is stunning!!

Sierra Gold, with her superb color genetics, has only been bred to a white male one other time..until now! We have decided to pair her to our outstanding male, Lazaro--a Kahuna's Lexus son, for a 2023 cria. These two top producers have the potential to "criate" something beautiful!!

MORE changes!! We never expected that Beringer would change colors, but that is exactly what he is doing!! AND....it looks like he is trending towards MODERN ROSE GREY!!! WOOO HOOO!!! What a crazy good surprise! Beringer's fleece has taken on a definate gray hue along the topline and down his sides. He now has grey spots on his legs. The dark coloring on his nose and ears has faded to grey as well. This boy has got it all..conformation, density, gorgeous locks, luster and personality too!

Welcome to the world Beringer! We are so excited to now have Mondavi's first male cria on the ground!!! This boy looks amazing!

This little guy comes from some very nice genetics and although we love our white suris, we are excited to see what a DARK Kahuna line will look like for us at Honey Maple Farms. Sire, Mondavi, is carrying great luster, holding on to his lock structure and displaying a decent amount of density at 7 years old. He has Kahuna on one side of his pedigree; Sirius Black and double Macgyver on the other, and so far the dark color is winning out in his crias!
