FOUNDATION DAM - NOT FOR SALE

Wow, this girl is a looker. And born running practically -- running circles literally around her dam as she nursed for the first time. Her white fiber is bright, fine, very long, and crimpy!

Her first cria a male, Griffon, by our multiple champion Black Maelstrom has sold. We just cannot keep them all, though he had fantastic fiber!

She was then bred to our multiple SOI/JOC male Smokejumper for her next beauty, a vibrant red brown girl who is the spitting image of her sire (now deceased) in color and her luxuriously soft and dense fiber. Boy, does Danica really produce in the color and fiber! We are definitely keeping Firestarter in our program.

Her crias are really just exceptional! For 2021, Danica produced a beautiful medium brown girl sired by our Axios. This girl, whom we named Oraine, is extremely nice, as evidenced by her juvenile show career. We love Oraine, but to really show off Danica, we sold her in the 2023 Amber Autumn Auction.

This year, Danica produced another beautiful girl, a MB from our black champion, Stradivarius. Marsella is a looker, too! We cannot wait to see her develop.

Description

One of the last cria for our special Smokejumper, lost before he could really produce on our farm, Firestarter has a special place in our herd. Now that we sold one Jumper daughter, we have only Glow and Firestarter.

She wasn't able to show because we have a small show string and initially another 'took her place' in the line and later when we considered it we realized that without having coated her dirty state would not serve her well in the show ring. But, since we were looking forward to her breeding future, it didn't matter that much.

Unfortunately, circumstances (both of our and industry/weather causes) she didn't get a chance to breed in 2022 like she should have. This well developed girl has been ready!

This year we bred her to our multiple grey champion Truthsayer to see what she wants to produce. Her dam brings some light genetics but also the ability to produce color. Her sire had blacks and greys in his lineage. With Truth, who also has blacks and greys along with some lights in his pedigree, we could have anything from a light to a grey to a dark or even black. We are excited to see and are confident we will like what we see. We had a beautiful rich red brown girl we named Catching Fire! Firestarter has been an excellent mom.
