UPDATE: sometime in the summer of 2018, Manchu quit producing sperm. We finally tested and confirmed in spring of 2019. He had a long run and produced many outstanding cria. We are thrilled to still have daughters, sons and grandlkids still in the herd. He is retired to live out his time in the old guys pasture. Thanks Manchu!!

Here is what Amanda VandenBosch had to say when she evaluated him for us this February 2006……
“Overall this male is excellent! He is a strong male with excellent substance of bone. He has a triangular head shape with a broad muzzle and good distance from eye to lower face. He is true to type thru his head and overall proportions, exhibiting fineness, uniformity of character throughout the blanket and excellent density for fineness. True Herdsire prospect!

As you can see from his histograms over the years he is VERY consistent. He sheared 13.9 POUNDS in his 2008 annual shearing. 14.2 lbs in his 2009 annual shearing, 14.8 lbs in his 2010 shearing. WOW. DENSE. 2007 Skin biopsy - Follicular Density of 61; S/P Ratio 11/1 Age 15 mo. (Watts 2006)

His 2008 Fleece (4 years old – D age category) Scored 80.5 points at AOBA Nationals 08; Fineness/Handle 18/20!; Crimp 8/10! Manchu was still winning Fleece Championships at 5 years of age. His 2009 Fleece took Reserve Color Champion!! At 10 years of age - 2014 IAO Reserve Longevity of Fineness Champion!!

Manchu’s progeny exhibit all the qualities of their sire. Of the 98 progeny on the ground, 50
have been shown, 21 of those have bannered!!! Almost 1/2 that show, WIN!!

Outstanding female crias swept 4 SHOWS. 3 Shows in A ROW fall of 2010 winning Reserve and Color Champion at EACH SHOW! Description

Quintessa is a beautiful, bright white and has her sire's great fleece. Just take a look at that histogram at 20 months - 16.9 AFD, 3.8 SD, and a 71 Curvature! She's an easy keeper with solid conformation, and consistent crimp, density, and fineness throughout her exceptionally bright fleece. Her dam, Quija, is one of our most consistent producing females.

Quintessa produced a fantastic appaloosa male, Cointreau, with Escher, in 2019

She is bred to our harliquin male Sgt. Pepper for a fall 2022 cria!
