Goldyn Rae's Dark Maya is a true black female out of our own Mystic Brown. She exhibits high luster, consistent color and great conformation. Maya won First Place at GWAS 2017 and finished Third Place out of 10 animals in a tough AOA National Show competition. She is a big, strong girl!

Maya's sire, Goldyn Rae's Mystic Brown, is an award-winning grandson of champions CHAKOTAH of CCR Suris and Sierra Bonita’s SIRIUS BLACK. He had a great show record and received the "buttery fleece" judges comment on more than one occasion. MYSTIC has an excellent disposition, great conformation, straight legs, coverage down to his toes, perfect bite, that ideal Suri head, and outstanding luster. Mystic's third year histogram results were OUTSTANDING: 21.8 micron with 3.7 SD, 17.1% CV and 2.1% > 30. This dark brown boy is sporting fiber stats you would desire in most whites!

With her sire LCA Huckleberry de Latah, 2012 Futurity Dark Herdsire of the Year, Blue Ginger is a complete package with superb genetics. This girl has great genetics and fleece stats for a dark black female. Her sire Mystic Brown sports a 59.5 density and her dam Blue Ginger produced a female (Nazca) with a 72 density. Maya is currently bred to Goldstar's Bojack (confirmed 11/16/18 via ultrasound).

Description

We were looking for a grey herdsire and we were attracted to this grey male Achilles not because of his loaded pedigree, but more for the wonderful fleece qualities we saw when we looked at him closely at The Futurity in 2021. His fleece exhibited an exemplary layered lock structure when we examined it. It was a dense fleece that one would expect with that type of organization. It was uniform relative to him being grey and had a great handle. It is a cool slick handle, The fleece exhibited the beautiful luster expected in a Suri. In addition to the fleece, we loved his conformation. He's got the square proportions we look for. He has a strong and level back. He has great, solid bone and carries himself like a champion.

The loaded pedigree we alluded to earlier is just an added bonus. Of course, it could be that the reason why he exhibited all those great qualities is because his pedigree is exceptional. The list of great and prepotent herdsires found in that pedigree is amazing. The list includes Miguel, Shavano, GLR Nico, Archimedes, Felipe, Hershey, Sirius Black, 90 Proof, Chakotah, MacGyver, Mystic Brown, Huckleberry, and Allegro. I am sure the number of great females sired by some of these males or bred to these males is an exceptional list too. We are so proud to own this boy and we can't wait to put him on some of our females in 2023 for crias due in 2024.

Financing Terms

We are willing to do financing. We may also be willing to offer a discount for a cash purchase. If the purchase of an alpaca is financed, no interest will be charged if paid off in 1 year. Stud fees must be paid for in advance. Transport of a purchased alpaca to the buyer's farm is the buyer's responsibility unless some other agreed upon arrangement is made. If a breeding to one of our males is purchased, the transport of the female to and from our farm is the buyer's responsibility.
