DarkStar is a solid youngster-- straight legs, a bright, dense, curly true black fleece. DarkStar's harlequin appaloosa sire throws appaloosas and harlequins >80 percent of the time. Unfortunately, DarkStar missed the memo on the spots. DarkStar has a 50 percent chance of carrying the appaloosa gene and being able to produce it. We believe that the chance is much better than 50 percent as he is expressing some spotting on her rear left left where you can see white and brown spots. DarkStar's color genotype is Ee a2a2 which is very desirable for an appaloosa / harlequin breeding program. If that is not your thing... DarkStar is also a nice choice for black and grey breeders given his stellar grey and black pedigree.
