Jacob Black Son

Cedar of Cedar & Sage

Huacaya, Herdsire (Male), Proven | Bay Black

AOA#  36121328   D.O.B. 10/26/2021 (4 yrs)

Sire:
Avalon's Jacob Black
| AOA# 31526920  | True Black  |
19 Time Halter Champion in True Black!

2012 has been good to Jacob Black. Every show he went to, he was the Color Champion, and it didn't matter if it was the Futurity or Nationals.

He finished 2012 with a stellar 19 halter champion banners!

Jacob Black has great conformation, a beautiful fleece, and a handsome head. His true black fleece is extremely uniform with a very expressive crimp style found normally on white animals. His personality is laid back and gentle.

Jacob Black started showing when he was 9 months old, and since that time, he bannered in every show he went to, with the exception of a blue ribbon at the Futurity when he was 10 months old.

Jacob is not available to outside breedings.

He will be an exclusive, restricted herdsire for our black program, and he will join 15 time champion Knight Rider in producting show winning blacks.

Update: Jacob Black wins Reserve Dark Herdsire at the 2015 Futurity and the 2016 Futurity! That is a fabulous achievement!

Update: Jacob Black's crias are outstanding, and many of them are already champions themselves!

Description

This bay black male is the real deal—backed by one of the most recognizable true black sires in the industry and a pedigree built for both phenotype and fleece. Cedar is the son of the legendary Avalon's Jacob Black, the 19-time Halter Champion in True Black. Jacob Black has long been known for producing elite offspring with exceptional conformation, strong bone, and high-end fleece—and Cedar clearly carries those traits forward. He exhibits the kind of presence you expect from this lineage: great conformation, a beautiful fleece, and a very appealing, masculine head.

On the maternal side, Cedar is out of Irish Meadows' Gianna, whose pedigree adds further depth through Our Peruvian Black Jag and Irish Meadows black lines—bringing additional consistency, color strength, and proven production genetics.

This combination results in:
Strong true black lineage anchored by Jacob Black
Balanced conformation and solid bone structure
A fleece with softness, uniformity, and overall appeal
A pedigree built with both performance and breeding value in mind

Cedar is a well-rounded male that offers both immediate visual appeal and long-term potential—making him a valuable addition for programs focused on advancing black genetics with proven lineage behind them.
