    Introducing Heather’s Acre Caribbean Sky, a male who perfectly captures the "blue sky" potential of elite alpaca breeding. Sired by the renowned Snowmass Royal Caribbean, Sky isn’t just a pedigree—he is a statistical marvel. He currently holds Top 5% EPDs in three critical categories, including Average Fiber Diameter (AFD), placing him in the highest echelon of the national herd. His fleece data is a dream for any breeder, featuring a Mean Fiber Diameter of 15.0 microns and an incredible Comfort Factor of 99.6%. This is a male designed to push the boundaries of luxury fiber, offering a handle that is as silky as it is consistent.

    What truly sets Caribbean Sky apart is the breathtaking uniformity and "staple power" he brings to the table. With a Mean Staple Length of 95 mm and a Length Coefficient of Variation (CV) of 2.2%, his fleece is remarkably even from tip to base. This consistency is mirrored in his Spin Fineness of 15.0 microns and a nearly nonexistent 0.4% of fibers over 30 microns. When you combine his high-frequency Mean Curvature of 52.4 deg/mm with his elite EPDs, you get a sire capable of revolutionizing a herd’s fineness while maintaining the structural length required for commercial excellence.

    The first judge to put hands on Caribbean Sky wanted to take him home and called him an "elite alpaca". This guy and most of his kin put almost everything into their fleece. He is conformationally correct, but has taken his sweet time getting to full size, which he now is. We plan to start testing him against several of our females this spring assuming he is still on the farm.
