Description

JOFSA’s Hawthorne represents the culmination of meticulously cultivated, elite alpaca genetics from two powerhouse lineages.

His sire is the impressive JOFSA’s Bandit, a testament to a line of champions. Bandit’s sire is the remarkable GVA Rio Grande; shown only twice, Rio Grande’s perfect conformation and confident presence earned him a first-place win at the Great Western Alpaca Show. This legacy of excellence is inherited from his own sire, the decorated Psylent Knight. Psylent Knight’s impressive show record, during a time of stiff competition, includes First Place in the 2010 AOBA National Alpaca Show (Fleece) and 2008 ABR Fall Festival Alpaca Show (Halter - Get of Sire). His record also includes second-place finishes at the 2010 MOPACA Invitational, 2009 ABR Fall Festival, 2009 The Suri Networks All Suri Fleece Show, and 2006 Great Western Alpaca Show, plus third-place ribbons from the 2006 AOBA National and Futurity shows.

The prestigious genetics continue up this line with Psylent Knight’s sire, GS SALADIN 554, a Reserve Champion and first-place winner. Psylent Knight’s dam, PRADA'S PERUVIAN BERYL MARKHAM, was a force in the show ring, securing multiple Champion and first-place honors. Her sire was the infamous DDF PERUVIAN MACGYVER, a prolific producer of Grand Champions and a multiple Get of Sire first-place winner. On the dam’s side of this lineage, GVA Rio Grande’s mother, GVA COALDUST, carries impressive 2024 EPDs, ranking in the Top 10-15% for key fleece traits. Her sire, SIERRA BONITA'S MACGYVER'S MOJO, was a multiple first-place winner with his own outstanding 2024 EPDs in the Top 5-10%. JOFSA’s Bandit’s own dam, LUNA ROSA'S ELITE ALEGRIA, continues this quality, with her sire, LUNA ROSA'S BLACKHEART, being a first-place winner.

This incredible lineage is matched by Hawthorn’s dam, BLACK JEWEL OF ATV. Her sire, HERSHEY'S HUGO, was a first-place fleece winner. His heritage includes PPERUVIAN URIBE, whose 2024 EPDs rank in the Top 5% for Fleece Weight.

Black Jewel’s dam, WOMBAT'S GDAY BIANCA, brings her own potent genetic background. Her sire, CROWN ROYALES WHITE KNIGHT, was a Halter Champion and multiple first-place winner with phenomenal 2024 EPDs in the Top 5% for AFD, SF, and %F>30. His dam, PPERUVIAN BLANCA, was herself a first-place winner for Produce of Dam. Bianca’s dam, WOMBATS SONNY DAY IN SYDNEY, has 2024 EPDs in the Top 10-15% for AFD, %F>30, and SF.

This line is anchored by her sire, the legendary PIVAL BLAZEN SON, an alpaca with an astounding show career. He is a multiple Champion and Reserve Champion, earning Judge’s Choice, Best Luster, and Best Lock awards. He has amassed well over a dozen first-place blue ribbons in both halter and fleece competitions throughout his career. His own genetics are backed by his sire, BLAZEN SADDLE JAX, a two-time first-place fleece winner, and his dam, CPERUVIAN ACCOYO CLARA, who holds Top 10-25% 2024 EPDs across six traits.

Awards

For JOFSA's Hawthorne's  Paternal line, Please see awards listed under his paternal Grandsire,  GVA Rio Grande  in our  Herdsire's section.
Not all alpacas are shown in the ring. Some may be shown only once or twice and do excellent before beginning their breeding career, those are not shown in this list due to brevity of space. However, they are a culmination of their genetic potential.
