2026 First Cria Update

On June 9, 2026, Fantasy welcomed her first cria, Rare Gem Fantasy Unlaced "Finley", a beautiful dark fawn female sired by Accoyo America Conjurer. Born unassisted, Finley arrived wrapped in an extraordinary blanket of dense, highly organized fleece that immediately caught everyone's attention. Fantasy has proven herself to be an attentive, protective first-time mother with outstanding maternal instincts.

This breeding represented something we were especially excited to explore: the thoughtful blending of two of the alpaca industry's most influential breeding programs. Fantasy contributes the depth, consistency, and elite fleece characteristics of the renowned Snowmass program, while Conjurer contributes the carefully cultivated Accoyo America genetics. Together, Finley represents the next chapter in a breeding vision built upon generations of purposeful selection.

We were honored to welcome Fantasy In Lace into our foundation herd through the 2025 Parade of Champions auction—an event I look forward to each year. The depth of genetics represented at Parade of Champions has been instrumental in shaping the Rare Gem breeding program, and Fantasy embodies exactly the type of female we strive to add to our herd. With her exceptional fleece, beautifully rooted pedigree, and structural correctness, she represents the kind of foundation female capable of influencing generations to come.

For her maiden breeding, we selected the wildly intriguing Accoyo America Conjurer. Conjurer is a proven sire of spotted offspring, although the exact source of his pattern-producing genetics remains something of a mystery. Beyond the possibility of pattern, this pairing was thoughtfully designed to combine two legendary breeding programs—Snowmass and Accoyo America—in pursuit of elite fleece traits including lingering fineness, high-frequency crimp, exceptional density, and lasting uniformity.

Fantasy possesses a robust, well-balanced frame that supports longevity and consistent production. Combined with her elite pedigree, exceptional fleece, and an outstanding first cria, she has already validated our confidence in her as a cornerstone foundation female.
