    We are delighted to introduce Zaire, a truly exceptional addition to our herd. His Remarkable bone density, uniform color, and fineness, coupled with a superior disposition, set him apart. Born to Snowmass Illuminescence, who was bred to Snowmass Elite Legend when we acquired her, Zaire has quickly established himself as one of our main herdsires.

    We sent Zaire's fiber to Alpacapalooza in April 2017. Taking 2nd place at 7 months of age, Sharon Loner, the fiber judge, wrote on his fiber score card, "The fiber is very uniform in Color". The rest of his scorecard shows all categories with above-average ratings.

    Zaire and his sister, Snowmass Lovelight, were entered into the Produce of Dam category at The Great Western Alpaca Show (GWAS) in May 2017. Taking a 2nd place behind one of the largest farms in the US, Amber Autumn Alpacas, was a great accomplishment for our farm. Zaire placed 2nd in Halter there. Snowmass Lovelight, with her [unique characteristics], also made a strong impression at the show.

    Description

    Koa, born 7/29/25, weighed 15.6 pounds at birth. Despite a challenging start, he has shown remarkable resilience and is now thriving, gaining almost a pound per day!

    Koa's unique combination of very white, crimpy, dense fiber, reminiscent of his sire, Sawdust's Zaire, sets him apart. Splendera, a first-time mom on our farm, is proving to be a very attentive and protective mom to this little guy.

    Koa is a flowering tree native to the islands of Maui and O'ahu in Hawaii. The word Koa also means brave, bold, fearless, or warrior. This seemed to fit Koa, even though it is not a white wood.

    Koa will start the show season in February when we attend the Wild West and Golden West Shows in Sacramento, CA. We are excited to see the comparison to others in his age, color, and sex class. We invite you to follow Koa's journey on our social media channels and share in our excitement as he takes his first steps into the show ring.

    Financing Terms

    We will offer financing if you need that option. However, we reserve the right to keep the animals (at your expense) until your contract is paid in full. You will be charged a per diem fee (negotiable) while your animals are still on our ranch. You will need to carry your own insurance on the animals you purchase. 35% down, interest at prime rate plus 1%, payments will depend on length of time financed.
