Born in the soft light of early morning, Rare Gem Mirakel’s Halo made an entrance we won’t soon forget. This beautiful Leopard Appaloosa female is the first cria for her dam, Rare Gem Apache’s Raya Sunshine and the very first offspring for her sire, Mirakel. Tiny but mighty, bright-eyed and steady from the start, Halo stepped into the world with presence and poise.

Her arrival was not without challenge. Halo presented with one leg back and her umbilical cord wrapped around her neck—complications that required quick correction and careful attention. Once safely delivered, a single sunbeam broke across her tiny, still-damp frame. That moment—where effort, relief, and light all converged—is what inspired her name: Mirakel’s Halo.

Heritage & Strengths

From Her Dam — Raya Sunshine

Raya is a modestly expressed Appaloosa, carrying the genetics without bold patterning. She has a strong, balanced frame and a calm, steady temperament. Her sire, Apache, is well known for expressive offspring, and Halo clearly taps into that side of her pedigree. Raya’s line is recognized for good structure, consistency of color, and a natural pasture presence that stands out.

From Her Sire — Mirakel

Halo is Mirakel’s first-born cria, and she showcases the promise we hoped he would bring to our patterned program. Mirakel contributes refined type with a bright, fine, uniform fleece. We look forward to watching Halo grow as an early reflection of what Mirakel will offer as a future herdsire.

Pattern & Fleece Notes

Halo presents one of the most exciting newborn fleeces we have seen in our Appaloosa program to date. Her fleece shows tightly bundled staples from birth, with brightness and early organization that catch the eye. The coloring is a beautifully expressed Leopard Appaloosa pattern with depth, dimension, and—much to our delight—true jet-black spots sprinkled throughout. Her markings are clear, attractive, and highly promising for future development. Combined with her correct frame and elegant stance, Halo offers both beauty and substance.
