Description

This girl had a cameo appearance when the news crew came around interviewing alpaca breeders attending the 2026 Spring Buckeye Alpaca Show. That was quite an experience!!

Lainey is registered as a dark rose grey with roan fleece characteristics boasting a 16.5 Micron fleece as a yearling with a SD of 3.5 and CV of 21.5%. Uniformity of her fleece length, uniformity of micron, and crimp character are highly rated, and free of impurities! The fleece has wonderful fineness and handle, is bright and boasts very few fibers >30 microns. Lainey's color consistency was rated a 4 out of 5 in her last WF class.

One of the fleece judges was very impressed with her above-average staple length, giving her the advantage of a higher fleece yield. We expect her to get better as she matures.

Lainey is a maiden and we have plans to have her bred this coming Fall to Amber Autumn Blue Northern, a Light Silver Grey & White herdsire. The herdsire has numerous grey male color championships, reserve championships and is in the top 25% EPD's for 2025.
