Selective and judicious breeding here in North American have taken the grey suri from an unpredictable anomaly to a highly predictable, high quality, established entity. SILVANO of PVA has this and so much more. His pedigree consists of no less than 2 parents, 2 grandparents and 2 great grandparents that are medium silver grey.
His dam, Silvana of PVA, is a daughter of 2002 AOBA Naitonal Champion and 2002 CABA Champion, Montoya of PVA(a Mahogony Prince son), and out of one of PVA's top dams, Armonica. Silvana was no stranger in the show ring, receiving Color Champion at the 2006 Futurity, and 1st at the 2006 AOBA Nationals, 2006 AWE, 2005 AOBA Nationals and 2005 AWE.
Silvano’s sire, Platinum Marquis, is a third generation grey full Peruvian who is a son of silver Marquis (Silver King x Silver Gen), and his dam is Pacific Crest’s Peruvian Silver Belle, out of the Helios, Bruxo and Uribe lines. Only shown as a juvenile, Platinum Marquis was the 2004 Grey Male Color Champion at Mapaca and AOBA Nationals and Reserve Color Champion at the 2004 Futurity.

Silver Shadow's Katarina has grown up to be a wonderful Grey Producer. She sprang into this world with vigor, and is still going strong! Her fleece is a deep redwood color dotted with light silver gray in honor of her sire, Silver Shadow. She has all the markings of a classic gray, but when she is shorn you can see the little silver dollar-sized polka dots in her blanket.
Her sire, Silver Shadow, has produced more than 50% gray in his career--an astounding record. Katarina's dam, Nadia La Boliviana, has produced rose gray 3 times when mated to Silver Shadow! And Silver grey when bred to Silvano of PVA! Quite a record for Nadia, that Katarina is already proven she can pass on!
Katarina was bred to Silvano of PVA for a September 2011 cria and WOW were we impressed. A gorgeous, healthy Medium Silver Grey Female!
Katarina just delivered a beautiful TRUE BLACK female on January 17th ,2013 from Silver Shadows El CID.
She is absolutely gorgeous. She is so dark she is Purple. Purple Rain as we named her has already been sold as a weanling.
